USH'S MATRIX GAME 2006 SECOND ASSIGNMENT- 'The Monastery'

Well, shit.

None of us in the library are in a position to really go back and help as that would more likely than not end up with whoever fights their way back and Balder dead.

I don't know if Melis would be able to go back but even if she was, her Agent would follow and we've already shown that trying to take on two Agents like that doesn't work terribly well.

The only thing I can really think of that could work is if the three that are with Balder team up to get that Agent vulnerable quickly and then Helios throws him. Helios, Hawk, and Balder are not the best fighters in the group by any means, but at least the Agent's attention would be split and if Burn kept up heavy gunfire on it, that should at least keep the Agent's attacks from being too nasty, or possible from it attacking at all.

That's about all I can really think of to get out of this mess.

Forget about making him vulnerable too- no time.

I'll allow everyone a refresh at this point though.

Then all I can think of working is someone hitting the Agent to through it, dashing through the door, and jamming it. If they can jam the door to keep him distracted a turn or two, they should be able to get far enough away to lose him.

Only other idea I can think of is to lure him back to the balcony and try and knock him over that but I'm pretty sure that'd require him to be Vulnerable and thus no good.

Door is jammed already.

But engaging the Agent up close is a really bad idea at this point.

Yeah, I suck at my job...

Okay, so, the way I see it, Helios will need to turn and face that Agent. If the Agent is stalled before he gets to the 3-door room, Balder, Burn, and Hawk can get out the way they want to go without the Agent following them. He'll be too concerned with trying to crunch Helios into an interesting shape.

However, after Helios delays long enough- and maybe Burn as well, providing covering fire and keeping his distance (or maybe not)- Helios can tap in his kick and knock the Agent back, then get into the 3-door room and jam the door behind him somehow. Maybe with a gun? Burn's shotgun could come in handy here...

It's shitty to order someone to take on an Agent, but I think that's our best shot. The Agent would lose track of everyone except Helios, and Helios could bail.

Question, though: what's Helios' damage look like at the moment?

Mors will continue to winch up that rope, so that the Agents don't catch on if they come through...

Burn no longer has his shotgun. And the Agent actually will turn Helios into an interesting shape,. Interesting shape to the Agent, anyway- dead human shape.

Wait, the door's jammed already?

Could Balder make an Intrusion roll off the stat?

Agents have Observation. I highly recommend against it.

I know, let's frame him out!

...

Okay, so close combat is ruled out. Could Burn slow him down with burstfire through the door? Maybe tap 10B?

Well, that's every idea I can think of exhausted, beyond sending that group through the library.

Can't hurt...

Would give everyone the chance to get away, actually.

Except Burn.

Can't shoot and move at the same time?

He might move out of range of the door...

*bludgeons Burn for not having escapey powers*

Or hell, send him through the library as well, I suppose.

He can;t move and be in a position to shoot at the Agent allowing the others to escape at the same time, no.

I think sending Burn through the library is pushing it too far. he can try it, but the dice will have the casting vote.

And no other ways out beyond the library and clock tower?

At this point, no.

And there's no possibility of escaping through the clock tower while being followed, even if they pulled up/cut/whatever the rope after them?

The clock tower is not a magical teleporter. The issue is not being followed up the rope, it is Agents knowing that anyone is on the roof.

We might have to send him through the clock tower, then...

...that could be very painful. Correction, will be.
