Meh, I think the basic point being made is that God created sex - as a way of demonstrating love between a man and a woman(within marriage of course.)
To compliment this perspective - science has proven that sexual promescuity is generally unhealthy(both mentally and physically) between individuals of any sex - particularly when one is engaging in sexual intercourse with those of the same gender.
Again - all of this scientific stuff, just supports God's plan of sex(between a married male and female) being the most logical and loving one.
Regarding your argument stating abstinence as *harmful*, I have to say that it is a highly dubious claim. Aside from the obvious physical and mental benefits I can think of regarding it(like lower chances of contracting various diseases, better mental health, etc) I can also think of the lesson of self control it instills within an individual.
Obviously - there are some who have much difficulty with abstaining - due to the powerful nature of the sex drive(myself being one of them) But if one truly loves God and has faith in him - this drive can be controlled just like any other aspect of one's personality.

Untrue. Promiscuity is risky for ANY person of ANY sex with any sex....as long as the people get tested and use protection, the risk is decreased equally among anyone.
