He only uses a fraction of his power? *Sigh* Where the hell did they pull that from? That makes things even more stupid. Would you be holding back against a horseman of Apocalypse who's going to kill your wife? Or all the other enemies who have ruined your life.. 🙄
I think he meant holding back for the most part. I doubt very much he held back against Apocalyspe or Onslaught, but did against lesser opponents. Know what I mean?

U both right. The fraction of his powers is what they are trying to do now in Astonishing X-men I guess to make Cyclops more powerful and more of a badass than he is. It is stupi because it messes continuity a bit becaus ewhy would he want to hold back agains Onslaught or Apocalypse?
I have posted Civil War😘-men # 2 on the scans thread.

He never hold back against them. He opened up a hole in Onslaught armor big enough to let Xavier out, and nearly killed Apocalypse with a blast (X-factor #68)
It's long been hinted at that Scott was one of the world's most powerful mutants,
Yes, i agree. He was considered the most powerful of the original X-men until Jean became the Phoenix, and we later find out about Iceman's potential. Another evidence of this is Sinister showing so much interest on him, which maybe not only for the genetic potential. And him being among the Twelve, in which theorically everyone except Bishop was far more powerful than him.

He opened a crack made by Joseph and Cable, not sure if he couldve done it on his own, at least back then.

Bleh. Bishop can absorb a blast from Onslaught powerful enough to kill 1000 mutants, but can't take that. 🙄Thas car-azzy talk!
Onslaught Blast used on Bishop:
A blast of pure psionic energy, not concussive, nor telekinetic, just psionic power, he absorbed it, and then fallen unconscious.
Anyway, I believe it was hyperbole, 1000 mutants?Onslaught nearly ko.ed himself, Dark Beast helped him staying on his feet after that.
It would have been reasonable if he had taken his glasses totally off and opened his eyes wide (How the hell does he control the density of his blasts if he's not able to shut them off? ) I can hardly see a blast that small taking out Bishop who has absorbed the energies of the likes of Magneto & living tribunal.
Bishop could have just unleashed all of the energy he had contained and taken out X-men.
Only reasonable excuse I can think off is that Bishop was already nearly full of power, and he's not able to absorb and release energy at the same time which wont work as when Magneto hold him and other X-men back his energy grew untill it was too much and he automatically released it all.

I think his shades have lenses that can shift to allow him to blast, so the blast wouldnt be full on... he just kept firing non stop...
and rogue has overpowered him before with cyclops' blasts...
