i understand that much, as far as saying the trend is a-changing. but, on the flip side of the coin, i don't believe that's a fair reason to invalidate the feelings that came with the "earlier" trend. particularly when that trend is so fresh, and only changing on one front [spider-man.] not to mention pete's supposed to be the flip-floppin', john kerry of this crossover.
the idea that every relative of every registered super would be protected is kind of a loose promise that can't really be considered legit. imagine the scope of the people shield and the government want to register, then imagine the length and breadth of their collective families. many are international, or at least spread wide across the country, and they number several times the amount of supers who would register. half of shield would be devoted to keeping them on watch, which could even become an invasion of privacy issue and become borderline unconstitutional. of course 24/7 surveillance would be nice, just in case, in a world populated by super-villains in crazy jumpsuits. but that doesn't mean every relative of a superhero wants their own secret service plotting their routes and scoping their destinations.
heavy government involvement, particularly in the lives of superheroes, is like putting a stick of TNT next to a campfire. eventually, something's going to set off the fuse, and then it's all going to shit. we, and they, know the government is not always playing to their best interests. the mutants would know this best. we, and they, know shield is not the agency they once knew. and while fury might've gone off his rocker and betrayed the trust of a handful of heroes, what reason do they have to put their faith in maria hill?
if i were a superhero, we'll say, and i were to weigh the pros and cons which have been brought up in this argument [compelling on both sides, i'll admit,] i still feel as though the risk would not be worth the gamble. perhaps that's just my connection to my mother and loved ones, and perhaps i simply know a little much about this administration's dirty laundry, but i could live with breaking the law to do some good. i couldn't live with the possible ramifications of my identity being out there, even if only within the government.

We stopped off in a place called Delano on our journey 🙂 In one of the restaurants near to where we were staying for the night a waitress thought we were French 😆
I actually have a fairly strong west country accent. (For those in America who don't know what that sounds like, think of a typical English farmer and its sort of like that) 🙂
