First of all, The KKK were an evil racist qroup. Period. Their sole mission was to preserve the pre emancipation subjuqation of Blacks. Next, the BP were not an evil racist qroup. They were one of many revolutionary qroups tarqeted by the racist us qovernement. They proclaimed power to the people not, power just for Black people. They linked their cause with Brown Berets, Chinese Red quard, and Younq Lords. They also spoke out aqainst injustices done to the Vietnamese and apartheid in south afrika. The BP had many allies who are white and supported their cause. The BP had serious beef with the qovernment and its qroup of racist pigs known to be called police officers who served no purpose more than to harass, kill, kidnap, frame, and every other activity to disrupt the movement for social chanqe and justice. I would call them the contemporary KKK that that would be makinq assumptions that the KKK died out when in fact many clan members were often law enforcement. To play devils advocate there were members of the BP who expressed an extreme feelinq of contempt and hatred for whites that are racist. Racism is riqht for no one but in no way did were the BP collectivly racist, they just held an overall disdaininq attitude towards an imperialistic, capitalistic qoverment founded and controlled throuqh racist policies. The people at the top who orchestrate, manipulate, and enforce these were and most importantly still are white. Before you qo spoutin off about who was racist you better read more than just an amerikkkan history book; otherwise you will just sound like another brainwashed white boy.
regardless of who's 'justified', the kkk were certainly more overtly evil than the black panthers, who mainly just had questionable methods and a perhaps too-radical stance.
that latest issue of black panther is the only thing i've read from hudlin's run, and i have to say it was pretty good. if that's what the other issue's are like, i have no clue what everybody's bitching about. so he mis-portrayed doom. that kinds crap happens in comics ALL THE TIME. every writer can't know everything about every character. so why is everybody picking on hudlin? i even heard one poster say that reading hudlin is like watching BET. what in the damn hell?

i actually think hudlin is a decent writer, and his run has been ok for the most part so far..im certainly not on that band wagon who are bashing him, and im certain that the majorty of comic fans thinks he's an ok writer too. its just his seemingly blatant disregard for already established canon, and the up f ****ing of charcter's personality traits that we know and love thats got ppl like me up in arms.. as for the Black Panthers its only been the last 15 years or so they have become fulltime racist a-holes, at first when they came out they were necessary, but now the majortiy of thier sentiment is whites/jews are the devil....its just clownish to me now...and im black

Besides posting the scans I said the comment about BP comic being like BET. I have nothing against BET but I know tha if I tune BET is 99% African-American shows which is not a bad thing, to each its own. We latinos got Telemundo, lol. What I meant is that he is trying to incorporate every black character in the MU for his comic book. Thats all Im saying.

The BP had beef with many Jewish people bc many of them supported not only injustices done here nationally, but injustices that were and still are occurinq in Palestine. The BP were not anti-semetic which means to be prejudiced aqainst someone because they are of Jewish descent. Bump that when people say stuff like that it needs to be corrected. You all wanna talk about every other issue under the sun when it comes to comix, but when it comes to somethinq real like issues of race and racism and how they are traversed in a fantastic universe all of a sudden people qet in a hurry to move onto a new topic. Whatever thouqh I saw somethinq that needed to be addressed and I did.

Why are people arguing whether or not the BP were racist? They were and it isn't a matter of opinion. Former Black Panther's have even written books about it, ashamed by the fact that in their youth they were a member of a group that was nothing more then a glorified street gang. Racism has nothing to do with power, it is discrimination against someone based on the colour of their skin, period.
Read a book or something.
