Doesn't matter if those things were good or not, point was to show how out of touch he is. 1% of the worlds population has a computer, but what's the percentage like in America? Again though the point was demonstrate how out of touch Cap is. Cap is from a generation where military heroes were worshipped, this generation worships its celebrities. Cap just doesn't get it. Would you want someone to supposedly represent what you believe in who doesn't even "get" you? Does it make Cap any less American? Of course not. Does it make him an effective voice of the people? I'm talking about the fight in Civil War 7. Cap showed no regard for collateral damage or civilians when Iron Man made it a priority to have the civilians moved.

I dont agree with this. You dont need a computer to know about Paris Hilton or MySpace. Paris Hilton is on the news pretty much on a daily basis. MySpace has also been on the news constantly due to the sexual predators and also pretty much every american teenager is hooked on MySpace and they are constantly talking about it. Im on Caps side but Sally had a very valid point. If he was Captain China or Captain "other place" he might have an excuse but living in america, he has no excuse. He should know about this things at some level. The only thing he might have an excuse about is YouTube, I dont see Cap sitting in front of a pc looking at silly videos.

Well it could be argued that the reason why hes out of touch is because Paris Hilton is crap and scheming your way to the top is immoral. Thats why Cap is a superhero and they are just civilians.

Well couldn't it be argued that Cap doesn't know about this things for good reason, like instead of watching tv he is saving the planet from destruction, or a more logical argument is that if Cap considers himself to have a good set of scruples then he needs to distance himself and not conform with these aspects of society that could constitute as immoral.
Basically, knowing about myspace, Paris Hilton might be popular American concerns but in terms of morality, if Cap doesn't consider them important his popularity is a small price to pay for his beliefs ✅

In my eyes they have got too dependent on the superheroe's, too arrogant and confident they will always be there for them.
It's shown pretty well in Civil War, as soon as a pact of Super Heroes stop fighting for what the masses think is right they are deemed "evil" or in the wrong. Or any new team that doesn't have press conferences and fight off Galactus, like the Runaways for example are seen as a menace and tried to be forced to be split up.
If it came down to be Tony Stark, modern and representing today's Marvel America or Steve Rogers, conserving the Marvel America of the past.. then guess what? Unsuprisingly I would choose Rogers, Every single time.
