If you ask me...

sentry is a nutjob......and Cap aint worried, hes got Blackbolt and Strange....
Also, I think that Spider-man is the person that will start off on Iron Man's side but will eventually change to Caps.
Wizard said it would be one of four people that would switch sides during the war.
1) Spider-man
2) Mr. Fantastic
3) Invisible Woman
4) Wolverine
BTW, why are you against the act?

3.Sentry isnt the kind of nutjob that when he goes crazy his powers get stronger, when he goes crazy, he just gets weaker.
1. The Wizard article was from an interview with Mark Millar. You can see the whole thing in the very first post of this thread. Whether it's garbage or not doesn't change the fact that they were right about their another thing in that very same article:
"7) Which hero gets beaten into a coma during Civil War?
A) Kitty Pryde
B) Human Torch
C) Spider-woman
D) Shang-Chi
WNFMM: “The Marvel heroes are cool guys, but people don’t think so anymore after the opening scene of our first issue, and they’re now being hounded like they’re Henry McCoy. This character is heading for a nightclub and a big night out when a mob turns very, very, ugly.”"
Yep, it was B.
2. Look at the act from a realistic point of view. Over 600 people are dead, and over 500 of them were children. Dead because of the actions of a group of people that decided to put on maks and just go out and enforce the law. No ones accountable for the death of those kids. What should the government do to prevent a repeat of this?
3. Now that the Sentry mini-series is over, he's no longer crazy. If he were to lose it again, that would mean that the Void had returned; and we all saw how well the combined forces of the X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, and SHIELD did against the Void. 😉

i understand this.....but you see then we americans by going with the Registrartion Act are becoming terrorists. The act should be able to be chosen or not, the hero should have the right to choose.
Just because these children have died, we cant go off the deep end, it was a HORRIBLE thing, but punishing the many for the crimes of the few isnt diplomatic, its barbaric, and imperialistic. Those Men are out there risking their lives everyday and night FREE of charge for people who dont even appreciate them or what they do, no-one is there to keep tally of all the robberries daredevil stops in hell's kitchen, or all the crack Cage has stopped from being sold in Harlem, or Even all the murders that Spider-Man has stopped, Captain America has stopped terrorists on numerous occasions risking his life saving thousands, these men and women are here to help, and all they wish is that they remain annonymous so that they can go home at night and not worry about there little cousin or auntie being murdered by a psycho just to get to them. The Point is that if this Law is passed than many heroes will hang up their tights, instead of becoming a criminal. And lets say they do.....If DareDevil Spiderman Wolverine Captain America hang up their tights, that doesnt mean that Green Goblin, Kingpin, Sabretooth, or the Red Skull will...that just means that there is one less person there to stop them...
1) Okay, well just have to agree to disagree about Sentry, Tony's still got most of the big guns on his side.
2) I might agree if the act said that ALL superpowered beings had to register, but to my understanding it doesn't. The act says that if you have superpowers and are going to put on a costume and try to enforce the law, then you must register. No ones forcing these people to go out and patroll the streets, but if they are going to do it, they need to be accountable for their actions.
i mean, look at the Punisher. He acts as judge, jury, and executioner. What about you're next door neighbor? Would you trust him to grab a weapon and patrol the neighborhood. What about the guy down the street? Don't know who it is, but you trust that he's doing the right thing. You have to remember, we know these characters. We know what kind of people they are. The Marvel US Government doesn't. They've taken it on faith that it was okay to give the heroes a loose leash, and now it's come back and bitten them in the ass.

Actually as far as arguments go, Chaos clearly had a better handle on his own standpoint and support for that standpoint.
I agree that just because the reader can see inside the mind of the Marvel heroes, does not necessarily mean the government or average person can do the same, so making the government out to be villians with a negative agenda is unfair. Perhaps heroes should have some resitrictions placed on them, but then again, considering myself a Liberal person, I prise free rights above all things, and though it is clear that these heroes break the law, they should not- as Falcoln said- "be turned into supercops", further strengthening the federal government and increasing the liklihood of an eventual fascist nation.
Though it looks good on paper, a Utopian society is not something you want to be a part of.
As far as where my allegience lies; I can sympethise with Stark, as he does make sense, but being a lapdog for the government is something only ill cam come of, which is part of the reason I tentatively side with the Rebels in this storyline, as I respect the misery characters such as Spider-man, Daredevil, and other "street" fighters would have to go through with this law imposed on them, and also- as King Kam said, they have a job to do, legal or not.... Take president Bush for example, while in office he has broken over 700 US laws and essentially attempted to remove certain amendements, the 4th most specifically, from the Constitution of the United States. I do not think this is the same situation, as I do not feel Bush is justified in what he is doing, but I side with Cap and hopefully Spider-man if he switches sides.
