Wolverine

zing... and besides, most superman retconning is about his origin and how his powers work, otherwise he's pretty much the same guy...

True but atleast he has the explanation that his mind has been f*cked with about a million times. That I can accept!

his healing factor has nothing to do with his mind being messed up, or his varying levels of strength... 😬

Actually the healing thing wasn't what I was getting at but truthfully that is also part of it. See his healing factor does effect his mind by blocking traumatic events to heal his mind form the damage they would inflect on him psychologically.

As for the strength levels, what character's strength levels don't vary? 😉

psychological damage does not equal physical damage... and it still doesnt prove that superman is so overly retconned...

it been stated in wolveriens comic countless times that his heal factor effects his memory by healing tramatic events from his past.......

Also wolverine mind has been ****ed with countless times by countless goverment and shadow groups........has superman?

how? by blocking them out? the human mind does that anyway... 😖

shouldnt his healing factor allow him to remember his past by reversing any psychological damage that was done already?

Also wolverine mind has been ****ed with countless times by countless goverment and shadow groups........

i wasn't disputing what he'd said about his healing factor affecting his brain. at all. just trying to make myself clearer...

its always been established that wolverine has been messed around by organisations and experimentation, but thats not the issue that i was talking about, i was referring to how it effects physical injuries...

has superman?

i don't see what that question has to do with anything... 😬

Oh really! Just how many times has superman pulled a new power outta his ass?
When did he become superman?
What happened to all those different shades of kryptonite?
When was the first time he met Lex?
How is Jonathan doing?
Who the hell is his cousin?
Can he lift cars, mountains, planets, or galaxies?
How does he get his powers?
Where did that dog come from?
How many kryptonians are left?
Where does Clark work?
Who did he lose his virginity to?

And these are just the things I think of off the top of my head that have been reconned!

how many times? in the space of what, 70 years? after the crisis, a large retcon was needed, simple as that... since the crisis? after byrne's run, clark has been getting a little more powerful gradually over the years, and not with new powers (except that t-vo thing, but i know sweet f*ck all about it), just extensions of his own powers...

and birthright is his origin, they needed a definitive origin, now they have one... that alone answers several of the questions you just asked... not forgetting that what superman retcons there are, are usually very small... not like parallax not being hal, or infinite crisis in general...

hell, the x-men almost constantly retcon themselves, and yet nobody seems to give a shit... 🙁 and almost every time there's a death in comics, the return of that character is a retcon of something else...

you don't have to, it's not that i don't believe you or anything, i was just saying, the human mind does that anyway... why is it different if his healing factor does it rather than his own mind?

Nice spirited discussion. I like. Time to throw my hat into the ring

To clarify what En and capt were trying to say Wolverine's healing factor "heals" his mind from traumatic memories by simply blocking them. Or at least it used to when he was a kid. Not to sure what that has to do with Superman exactly but I think it was meant to show a way to explain how Wolverine's memories seem to "vary". Though say what you will about Logan, his history is pretty straightforward, its just his powers that seem a bit iffy. (ie. exact strength level).

Superman on the other hand has a somewhat iffy origin, but I don't blame the character for that, its mostly the company's fault with their Crisis'. Essentially though no matter what revisions he undergoes though his character and powers remain the same for the most part. In terms of powers all they change is how work (gravity, yellow sun) but not the power itself. It would be nice for more clarity but I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Shazaam!

And for those that don't know thats my battle cry. I'm thinking of having it copywrighted so no one will steal it.

lol.

my victory cry is "You've just been MIND-RAPED!!!"

alf makes me want to bang my head against a wall of black panthers......

Personally I've always been fond of dressing like a school boy and clapping my hands while singing "berries and cream, berries and cream, i love berries and cream". Then I heard that that didn't strike fear into the hearts of my enemies so I had to change.

probly not

hmmmmmm he makes me want to kick capt america dead body and poke him in the eye so he disfigure during his open casket........

His man-crush on both Punisher & Captain America is deadly annoying, I'll give you that.

What's worse is he doesn't even admit he's got the man-crush 😬

yup

my favorit is his reason for hating wolverine it always cracks me up

Personally I don't have anything against him. I agree its a bit annoying sometimes but who of us don't get a bit riled up when we see our fav characters disrespected? I think he's a great guy, if a bit too "incestant".

"Berries an cream, berries an cream"

Is anyone running in terror yet?
