I actually really like that idea that we could all discuss characters we've come up with or even ideas that we've had for stories and such. Doesn't even have to be a contest, just a way to share interests. I'm sure as comic book readers we've all had ideas for characters before, so lets share em. And don't worry about whether or not you feel its too close to existing characters, there are so many comics characters that you're bonding to be copying someone. I'll start.
I'm a Hawkman fan and I've always dreamed of what I'd do if I got the chance to get my hands on his book. Other than clarifying his powers and moveset a bit I'd try to tie him in a bit more in the mystics. Show more of the mystical aspect of the Hawks and even bring in some new mystical artifacts for him to use (ala the Claw of Horus). Flesh out his rogue gallery a bit more to involve some of the overlooked sorcerers of the DCU.
And an idea I've been toying with foe Ant-Man (Scott Laing). I'd resurrect him as a SHIELD agent and focus a series on his adventures. Imagine how effective an agent he'd be? He's a tech genius, plus he can skrink and with his helmet can communicate with all the insects around and thus have surveillance . I'd have its a balance between the noir style of Daredevil w/ some high science elements of Fantastic Four, or maybe more aptly Iron Man.
Anyone else care to share their thoughts for books or even characters they've come up with thereselves?
I've always wanted a story with Jonn and the other martians leaving earth to find a new planet,I think that the other martians could be a great supporting cast in this as one of them is an-ex solidier and could sort of be a old stiff who doesn't settle for the fancy stuff,like phasing and telepathy but is a tough as nails H2h guy.The teenage one could be a once upcoming young star in the martian academies and while acting as a big brother to the youngest martian is inwardly always striving to impress jonn and the solidier.I would have the youngest martian being constantly trained by all the other martians because they see him as the races best hope for survival and this stress's him out,but he idolises jonn.
I would have Jonn as now a leader who does anything to protect his people,this would lead to the first storyline,where jonn and his tribe are invited to Oa under the pretense that he and his tribe could rebuild there safely but really it is just because the guardians see the martians as threats to other races so in essence the martians are prisoners.

Well, I was actually just talking to Lando on yahoo and I have an idea I would love to implement but I know there is no way in hell, marvel would ever let it happen. It all starts at the end of Civil War.
The War ends with the death of the invincible Ironman! Upon his death the conflict climaxes and quickly ends to leave the proregestration side victorious. The avengers have been divided in two teams still firmly against each other. However in the wake of Tony's death the world learns much to their surprise, that he has left everything to Peter Parker! This is also a shock to the Mighty Avengers as well. Since Tony was the finical support for the former Pro- reg team.
With this Peter has Cap as a more involved mentor for him and works to improve his image while trying to reform the avengers in a unified group and deal with being as in over his head as he has ever been. Almost all the heroes are now public with there identity's and most of the avengers are mainly street level heroes. Peter has also bought out the Bugle to reverse some of the damage its caused. Jonah is constantly working to find a way to regain control of the paper and destroy his image once and for all.
What kind of events do you think could unfold from this and what would you like to see happen with it?
I would like to see peter changed by the stress and responsibility of the money,becoming Agressive and agitated i could see this change in behaviour leading to a divorce from mary jane,and i could see his newfound wealth leading him down new superhero doors,as he now can travel all around the world with influence I.E meeting's with black panther for alliances or having to defend his money from super-villians going after it.

lol. thanks. Weird thing is, it started out as a fanfic for the game Final Fantasy VII, but I've redone it, it's a cowrite with my husband now. I'd tell ya the plot, but until the journal comes out, I can't really state that publicly due to complications and copyright.
But I've been working on it a while, and am working on the rewrite for it now so that it'll work as a series of short stories, just for the first one anyway. It's in five parts.
Hopefully it will be. If the story does well, I'm going to see if there's a way to get a hold of Marvel. Though I'm sure they have enough "mutants" on their roster as it is. who knows if they'll want the story. lol.
Plus... the second installment is very violent. lol. I'd have to beg Ennis or something. rofl.
True, but I mean uber, as a six year old girl's mother being shot while she's holding her kinda violent.
not to mention brain matter... rofl.
Let's just say I like being descriptive when I write violence.
I may post the story on fictionpress before sending into the journal to see what kind of reaction I'd get.
Sounds cool Artemis. Brutality can be a very powerful literary tool if used correctly.
I like the idea of the remaining Martians going to OA MM. Nice throwback to continuity considering the Guardians already messed with the martians when they thought they were a threat. History repeating itself is a good theme.
And Entity, I like the idea of Iron Man dying, but I'm not too keen on Peter getting his money. Peter as a character imo is defined more from the loss he experiences and making him rich would take a lot of that away, unless of course the day he gets his billions Aunt Many dies in which case we'd see him experience real grief since no amount of money could bring her back. If its written nicely I'll most likely enjoy it but Spider-Man is not a character I could see having power, money and influence. I could definitely see him with Cap as a mentor though, that I'm all over

Thanks 😄 .Yes to continue my story i would have Jonn and Co realising that they are captives and when they try to escape they are imprisoned by the guardians in the holding cells.When they are being dragged there i would like there to be a scene where despero is being transfered to a new cell and he and Jonn see each other and have a quick scuffle,using the fight to distract the Gl's whilst they have a telepathic conversation making a deal to help eachother escape.Later on we see that the martians are all in separate cells and then we see jonn sitting in his cell when suddenly the wall suddenly opens up and we see that through sheer telepathy Jonn was able to manipulate the Gl construct.To be continued 🙂

Indeed, and I don't use the brutality in a senseless fashion. (This much I can explain, as it doesn't give away any actual plot details.) The Brutality with the girls mother is all symbolism. The idea is the blood that covered her that night. Later on, as she was forced to join a group as a professional assassin, the "perfect" assassin no less, with no emotion whatsoever. The last scene is after she killed the man who destroyed everything she had and cared about as a child, she stood out in the rain as his blood was washed off of her.
Ironically and as strange as it seems, the above gives away no plot details. rofl.
