Ok, marvelprince has expressed a desire to join in too, so that makes 4 participants so far. In my mind, that means that we have the equivalent of a mini-tourney on our hands. So as soon as everyone comes to an agreement as to the level of the tourney, I'll post details as to how I think it should be handled.
Richard Ben Parker was Leatherdemon’s first ward (later on adopted son), Darkweb.
The youngest in a family of acrobats in a traveling circus Richard found his family killed by a bugler gang when they were stealing money from the show that employed them. Later Leatherdemon, a lawyer by day, took him in as his apprentice. For many years, Parker served by Leatherdemon's side. Throughout Richards’s adolescence, he greatly admired Leatherdeman; as he grew older and spent more time own his own he eventually separated from Leatherdemon to continue his own identity.
Darkweb’s Origin
While preparing for a performance, Richard and his family find that the circus owner has been cheating the employees out of their fair cut and there is nothing they can do about it. Later he over hears buglers planning to steal from the owner. Richard sees this as the chance for his family to get the payback they deserved. When the thieves confront the owner he refuses, and that night young Parker watches in horror as his parents' parents were shot in the crossfire of the robbery. While many of the cities citizens watch on. Richard feels responsible, because he doesn't warn his parents in time.
During the tragedy, a dark figure attempts to rescues Richard and his family from the chaos but he fails and only manages to save Richard form the uncaring juvenile services system. Seeing a reflection of him in the teen. The dark figure turned out to be the one and only Leatherdemon and shortly after not only reveals his identity, but also makes the young orphan the offer of a lifetime the chance to train under him to reach his full potential and his training begins. He then commits to a life of a hero , driven by his family’s death and Leatherdemons words, "With great power there must also come great responsibility" This disarming mix of selfless obligation and self-recrimination brought about by his families death arguably makes up Richard moral core.
After his family’s death, he trained profusely with Leatherdemon and eventually used his own intelligence to produce a formula that would exponentially increase his strength and especially his agility. However this turns out to be a curse he wished he’d never brought on himself, since afterwards he only finds more events he could have helped to prevent rather than using the new found strengths to benefit his past inadequateness he only discovers additional amounts.
Richard also tried to help guide Bloodspiller but, he was not successful. After he blinded Leatherdeman Richard tracked him down and confronted him. They began to fight and Darkweb started to gain the upper hand and threadend to kill Bloodspiller but stopped remembering what vengeance had brought him before. Then Bloodspiller took his chance and jumped into the nearby river. Darkweb knew it wasn’t the end…
