See if Superman can hit Thanos once, he can keep chaining his blows together, making Thanos groggy. And once Thanos is groggy enough, the almighty KO isn't far behind.
Of course, this would all be in vain if Thanos has some astronomical durability, massive damage output in his own right, and reflexes to tag Superman.
