Thanos was only sparring with Gamora, because if they was fighting he would have killed her like he did the last time they fought.

Doesn't matter if Thanos let Thor hit him. Thanos still had the IG and still got fked up. Doesn't matter if he was sparring with Gamora. It showed that Thanos isn't that fast or immune to strikes. I studied martial arts and in sparring sessions we try our best not to have the opponent hit us.
