Superman defeated Darkseid, Mongul and a bunch of Imperiex Probes. All of which are around the same power level as Thanos.

Thanos has been proven to be vulnerable to speed blitz (Gamora and Runner).

Thanos' durability is not that great. see for yourself. if Thor can do this to Thanos. Superman can do it too.

This thread being 227 pages long proves Superman is more than a match for Thanos. Those silly threads where Superman along with other herald level beings are fighting Thanos are just a ruse to get people to think Thanos will beat Superman in a fight. You can have infinite Supermen against Thanos and Quanchi, Nillist, and KuThano would still say Thanos wins. This is how fanboyish they are.

In reality SS is not supposed to lose to Thanos IF he is fighting to his best ability. Comics fights are not based off logic they are based off "for the sake of the plot" and "what will sell more comics".
