I bought the original Castlevania today. About goddamn time they offered a game worth buying, IMO.
Nintendo has confirmed plenty of their own releases as well, they're just being really lazy it looks like.
The only Konami games I want that aren't MGS1 or 3 which I own, are Turtles 3 on NES, and Turtles In Time. I'm tired of seeing each week updated with stuff I never played or stuff I hated as a kid like Turtles 1.
Give me Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Countries 2 & 3, Mario RPG, Paper Mario 64, Jet Force Gemini, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Bros. 3, The Lost Levels. Hell, why not the entire cartridge of All-Stars minus World, and Mario Bros. 1? The list is quite general I think for classics.

I believe star points are a European thing. Like, buy Nintendo stuff, get points. Earn enough points and trade them for swag. I think there was talk of being able to trade star points for Wii points to download with.

Countries listed here.
Capacity already exists to link your VIP account to the Wii; I did it on day one of purchase. Right now, though, all the stuff you buy on the VC shows up in your VIP account as 'benefits coming soon'. It looks more likely to be the other way around- using Wii points gets you Stars, not converting Stars into Wii points.
Does Nintendo randomly put games up weekly now? I mean, I know wikipedia isn't official, but whoever updates the pages of what is on the VC is really up to date. They have tons of games that have 'Unknown' release dates, and keep releasing these Genesis games at random, they have about 10 of their own games with 'Unknown' release dates.
Zombies Ate MY Neighbors, Super Metroid, Mario RPG, I'm sure Paper Mario 64 will be added as well. I also never played Donkey kong 64 and hope to be able to. Now streets of rage 2 is also announced, and Donkey kong Country 2 & 3 are nowhere to be seen, while 1 is out.
I mean, sure, I probably missed some classic games as a kid, with my lack of internet back then to get additional knowledge of games, and just being able to only get so many games from my parents. I just wish Nintendo would add their own released games into the mix as well.
Downloaded Ninja Gaiden today.
I forgot how incredibly hard this game is. It's still as cool as I remember it, with all the neat cinematic cutscenes and great storyline.
The only thing I utterly despise is the fact that when you fight the Masked Devil and The Jaquio, the two sequential bosses before the final battle with the Jashin, if you die, even once, you have to start at the very beginning of the final level (6-1), not at the boss' level (6-3).
All in all, it's still an amazing game. I hope the sequel, Dark Sword of Chaos, is offered.
Ms. Pacman on Genesis I found to be better than the Arcade game, and had more replay value due to the multiple difficulties, and level styles.
I like Pacman though, I never played it on NES/Arcade, so it's simple, but fun. I also have Donkey Kong Country 2 and streets of rage 2, two of my personal favorites, DKC2 one of my favorites of all time.
I just discovered that Actraiser (SNES) was released in Europe on April 13th. I seriously want to download this game for my library, since it is one of my top 5 favorite SNES games ever. See the article.
Does anyone know the difference in release times for the Wii VC from region to region?
I was losing hope that it would be a long time before Act Rasier was released for the Wii VC, but, to my surprise, I looked around the Wii's Shop Cannel this afternoon, and there it was!
I agree that Act Rasier is one of the best SNES titles ever. I love, more than anything, building my worlds one square at a time and sealing off the monsters' lairs. The playable action sequences, where you have to battle the monsters, is good, but nowhere near as linear as the building of your worlds.
Just downloaded the Legend of Zelda II (NES).
This game is very underrated, if you ask me. It's really fun to go from town to town, talking to the locals, piecing together hints & riddles, and solving puzzles. The game brings back some memories for me, seeing as how I haven't played it since I was 8 years old, nearly 20 years ago! (Damn, I feel old now.)
I had never played any Zelda game before Twilight Princess, and really liked it. So decided to test the other games and downloaded the original Zelda when it was released on VC. What a crappy game that was, I really didn't like it. I'm however considering downloading ALTTP aswell because so many seem to like it.
LTTP will forever be a cult classic in the US, at least considered so before the GBA release. For some reason LTTP sold horribly in the US on the SNES, and on the GBA is sold a lot better.
LTTP just gives you two perfectly different worlds to play in, with an increasing difficulty and dungeons, as well as enough sidequests to be civil. Unlike the collectibles in GTA, and RPG side quests.
