So what? It can still be a dialect. All language is made up. It just evolves.

What then.

It is a variety of English, changing grammar, words and spelling (if spelled) it is either a dialect or a language.

to me, different languages are english, russian, spanish, yada yada yada.
ebonics is just a hybrid form of english.

Like ...lets say American English and British English? Australian English?

That's what the word "dialect" was invented for.

Anyways, Ebonics is a dialect.

Well, just plain English is not really possible. You have an dialect and an accent like anone else as well I assume.

Oh well, I just read the Grapes of Wrath, where they apparently all had some hillbilly Oklahoma accent. I didn't mind it much. Though I find some more appealing than others.

No, I was never exposed to very thick accents.

I have and you can't even order food at a fast food place where they speak it........How they keep their jobs, I sure don't know.

I can understand a dislike for it. Though I don't feel it personally to any accent I ever heard. But as I said, also in Germany, I have hardly been exposed to think accents.

You got to point to your food on the damn menu man.........come on.....

Ever noticed how...waffle houses have pictures...on their menues? ...yeah.

"I was in Nashville, Tennesee last year, after the show I went to a Waffle House, I'm not proud of it, I was hungry. And I'm alone, I'm eating and I'm reading a book, right? Waitress walks over to me, "Tch tch tch tch. Hey, what you readin' for?"
Is that like the weirdest ****ing question you've ever heard? Not what am I reading, but what am I reading for. Well, godammit, you stumped me. Why do I read?
Well... hmmm... I guess I read for a lot of reasons, and the main one is so I don't end up being a ****ing waffle waitress."
