I've been saying it forever. Wolverine, as a character is AWESOME. He's the classic physically and emotionally scarred hero who tries to do good even when everything inside him says to do bad.
That character type has existed since people have made characters and it'll continue to thrive because it's near perfect.
Lots of William S.' writing are about that same character type.
Now, with that said, even the best laid out characters can be turned into shit if they aren't written well.
