It has been hinted at that he upgraded himself after the Heart of the Infinite saga. Basically when he created his body, he created his old spaceship, and hinted at becoming stronger in case someone were to come after him for revenge. To what extent it has been increased is unknown.

that's right, i'd forgotten that bit. did he fight maker before or after the hotu debacle?

oh, and according to marvel, the hotu debacle was NOT canon -- it took place in a completely different universe. soooo . . . that means OUR thanos did NOT have that particular upgrade.

is that the upgrade you were referencing as well, juggs?

Thanos clones have been more than a hassle for Thor alone. Much as I love both of them, they can't win.

they wouldn't have to if the other 2 could beat despero. and i for one would LOVE to see what a full on godforce blast would do to thanos. maybe NOT take him out, but he would NOT enjoy the experience either . . .

The HOTU may not be canon, but the boost Thanos gave himself afterwards is. I'm not sure about the maker fight.

Anyway The Thor Corps MAY take out Thanos on his own , maybe a 4/10 ?

But adding Despero is WAAAAAAAAAY overkill , Despero was railroading the JLA , slapping around Supes and WW like they were his bitches.

the events of THE END didn't happen in 616 and didn't happen to 616 thanos. apparently, according to marvel something 'like' it must have happened, but they've never said what and have not speculated.

i just don't see any reason to assume thanos 616 HAD this latest ridiculous power-up. 😬

This is what Andy Schmidt who is an editor from Marvel and currently working on Annihilation had to say about Marvel: The End.

"Someone else answered this later, but just so you get it from me as well: MARVEL UNIVERSE: THE END is an out of continuity story, however, Thanos does refer to some "event" that seemingly bore a similar resemblence to the THE END story that occured some time in between INFINITY ABYSS and THANOS #1."

Also in Akhenaten's profile in OHOTMU A-Z #1 in 2006 it says that he is from the Earth-4321 reality. And it also states "At least some of Earth-4321's events may have occurred in the Earth-616 reality, but the extent of this duplication remains unrevealed."

All the other "The End" books were not canon and more of a what if. But the event that happened in Marvel: The End were hinted to in Thanos solo comic and also in the profile for Thanos in Annihilation

The point you seem unable to comprehend, is that the powerup acquired after 'The End' is canon, even if 'The End' itself, is not. That's it, I'm finding a pic of Thanos ***** slapping Thor for my next post. After that, I'm going to request this spite thread be closed.

ps-i've seen and have all the thanos v thor books/scans, so save them. the point you seem to be unclear on is that i'm not debating who wins this fight -- i'm simply saying that according to marvel 616 thanos did not definitively USE the hotu. since that's the case, how did he power himself up?
