I think the Rasengan is stronger than the Chidori and i think that for a couple of reasons
1: The hospital rooftop battle the comment Sasuke made implied that even he acknownedged that the Rasengan was infact stronger ( the text in the manga was a dead giveway aswell )
2: The battle in the canyon also proved it twice, first was when Sasuke used the Chidori he was using the attack first and Naruto countered it with the Rasengan so obiously he was able to recover faster he was the one who stopped the struggle and again here he made a comment suggesting the Rasengan is stronger.
I also think the final struggle made it clear that again Rasengan was stronger and with this one you have to go by common sense, Naruto wasn't aiming to kill in the first place and all throughout the serie it is noticeable that Naruto's emotions while doing an attack is very important for its effectiveness
example: When he was enraged against Haku and was going in for that punch and Haku's mask was crumbling and the second he saw his face his punch was far less effective then it would have been would he still be enraged
This meaning that if he was aiming to kill Sasuke then im sure the effectiveness of the Rasengan would have been far more deadly and as clearly seen Sasuke was initially going for the kill but changed his mind on the last second, meaning his attack was at full power and Naruto considering his intentions wasn't
3: As stated in the manga the Fourth was never able to complete the Rasengan because he didn't combine it with his element wich means that the elemental Rasengan ( wind in Naruto's case ) is the completed version of the Rasengan and Lightning Edge is the completed version of Chidori so if you go by logic then the completed version of both jutsu's are the actual justus and the un-mastered versions used before where not
so going by the final product i also say and the reasons above
Rasengan >> Chidori
Elemental Rasengan >>>> Lighting Edge

wow you know so much about me... lol. Naruto is one of my favourite characters. That does not matter though as the rasengan is the more powerful attack. Created by the 4th as opposed to chidori created by kakashi. It does more damage than chidori FACT. Requires no seals and can be formed in half the time chidori can, faster technique. Wind rasengan is so far above chidori its not even funny. All your saying is people are on naruto's dick, what ever that means. If you believe chidori is more powerful than rasengan the only thing your basing such an assumption off is your own bias opinion.
The rasengan made a bigger hole at the back of the tank. Sasuke was like wtf when he left and seen the hole.
" it depends on how much chakra you put into it". Another one for rasengan considering Naruto has a huge chakra capacity. See the last 2 shippuden episodes for a more powerful rasengan that made quite a big crater.
