No but their durabiliy feats ARE comparable.

Surfer can do it faster. He managed to match Gladiator x50 physically with no significant time/effort to power up. And even without amping, he took it to classic Abomination physically.

With thirty seconds of sun dipping, Superman was pushing planets around at light speed....

Darth gets it.

has superman ever taken the blast of a supernova? keep in mind surfer doesn't absorb sunlight.

and if you say mageddon, i'll say "anti-sunlight".

Surfer flies through suns for fun.

The sheer pressure and forces at work inside a star is incomprehensible.

I was simply using Uni's words against him...

I'm not talking about sundipping. I'm talking about amping without leaving the battle field. Besides, Surfer's managed to absorb an entire sun in no time to power up, so I really don't get your point.

That's nothing new for Superman.

He was thrown through a red sun twice w/o being injured.

And Superman's absorbed a galaxy destorying blast...

I try not to make absolute statements, unless i'm sure of the truth behind them.

If someone said Surfer is likely as, if not more durable than Superman, that leaves it open to interpretation.

Someone saying Surfer isn't more durable/as durable as Superman is putting their opinion out as fact.
And that tends to get more people pissed and on a bend to disprove it, than the statement above.

Absolutes only make people look worse when/if they're disproved.

I wasn't forcing my opinion on others.

Simply stating my own.

I only recall two times he was near/ at/in a red sun.

When Eradicator had a hand in changing it, back in the early Byrne days.

When Sbp flew himself and the two supermen through one.

In both instances, he was badly hurt. The second depowering him for a year.

But thats a bad example, since Red suns weaken him and yellow suns empower him.

We need to see him go through a sun that doesn't do anything for him. Its just a sun, and he has to deal with the force inside without outside circumstances at play to sway things.

he absorbed it because it was "anti-sunlight". all that really means is that superman can potentially hold a lot of energy.

why didn't that make him exponentially more powerful, anyway?

You weren't being boorish, ala Nvrhdcle.

But, saying Surfer isn't as durable as Superman presents your opinion, in a factual and no nonsense way.

That just tends to get peoples goat.

No heat batdude.

Notice how I didn't say it was a durability feat, but in fact, an absorbtion feat.

Thanks...

notice how i wasn't accusing you of anything?

thanks.

You're welcome.

Ok guys calm down. So at this point we can pretty much all agree that Supes and Surfer have comparable durability at their base, Supes has quite a strength advantage at their base, Surfer can amp up his strength though to match Supes in that department without to much trouble though, and BOTH of them can amp themselves up even further if necessary(to ridiculous levels in fact). So there, we can all be friends that are in agreement now. 🙂

You'd be hard pressed to do that, considering it was discovered that even white stars can power him up.

And he went through the red sun twice with it being a weakness of his... I'd say that's pretty impressive.

And no Uni, those aren't the only times he's encountered a red sun.

He had to fight an army under a red sun (notice how he said he moved a planet under a red sun).

And his fight with Zod under a red sun was crumbling the planet they were standing on.
