definately. that part was hilarious. 🙂 good stuff.

CUT TO BECKETT AND DAVY JONES -- THE FLYING DUTCHMAN

Beckett: *looks out to the horizon and smirks* How does it feel to have your old ship back.

Jones: *cool voice* Fine. How does it feel to have offered up one of your own men to serve me in order to raise this ship from the sea?

Beckett: *sighs, but it's a happy sound* Powerful. Once the Caribbean has been broken and tamed, the East India Trading Company can spread out to the entire world.

Jones: What is the point of all of this? What are you wanting to achieve?

*Beckett looks sharply over at Davy, but the captain seems truly intrigued.*

Beckett: With the Company in control of all the trading routes and ports, the world economy will become dependant us. Do you know how much money and power can be bought by making a country desperate?

Jones: Fascinating. But how do you plan to achieve this 'taming' of the Caribbean? You are no sailor, and the men don't trust me.

Beckett: By calling back the one who can lead the men.

Jones: *skeptical* And who would that be?

Beckett: I believe you've spent some quality time with him just recently. James Norrington would be a suitable leader.

Jones: He won't come willingly....even if you get him here, he won't do as you say.

Beckett: I think I can...persuade him to see things my way.

*Beckett motions to Mercer. The 'valet' steps forward and hands Beckett what appears to be a large silver coin. Stamped on it is a strange figure -- the torso of a woman, with shark fins instead of feet.*

*Jones' tentacles actually pale*

Jones: You can't use them! They're dangerous! Not even I can control them, and I helped to create them!

Beckett: With the right incentive, they can be extremely helpful.

*Beckett drops the coin into the water. It vanishes without even making a ripple. Soon, a haunting song rises out of the sea. Beckett smiles again, as several female faces pop out of the water.*

Beckett: Say hello to your children, Jones.

-----------

Next bit will be Norrington and the mermaid. It'll be more amusing than this bit. 😄

"Will: ....do you think it's a trap?

Jack: ....I dunno. But it's fun watching him wave his arms like that.

*Jack decides that this would be a great time to mimic Barbossa, so he does, much to the other captain's annoyance.*"------Surreal

Typical Jack! That was so funny!

Thankies, Willo 😄 I'm glad you liked it even though it fell a little flatter than what I had originally intended. I swear, trying to write with a fever is so darn difficult. 😄

---------

CUT TO JAMES

*James rows his long boat onto the shore of the island, and quickly walks through the jungle. He is obviously seeking a particular place. Finally he sees a small cove through the copse of trees, and he approaches it. It is out of sight of any ships, and the water is nice and warm. Satisfied, James takes a ring out of the pouch and drops it into the water.*

*The scene fades out and comes back. It's obvious some amount of time has passed. James is leaning against a tree, his hat tipped down to shade his face as he takes a nap. Sudden splashing startles him into awareness.*

James: So you're finally here.

P'liekite: *in a voice that is both musical and yet extremely odd* You have called me. I've been waiting for so long for you to send for me.

*The 'woman' smiles coyly up at James. She has high cheekbones, and strange green eyes. Her hair is green, with pearls and starfish weaved into it, and her body is a light green color. She is naked, but the scales that cover her fins also cover her small breasts. Her stomach is scale free, as are her arms and face, but her fingers have long nails and are webbed. She is quite beautiful, despite the strangeness of her appearance.*

James: I brought you some presents.

*James stands and goes to sit beside her near the waterline. She is half in, half out of the water, and as soon as James sits beside her she touches his face. Then her eyes spot the pouch and she grabs it happily.*

James: *amused* I hope you like them.

*P'liekite squeals over the necklaces, and puts on her favorite one, a gold necklace with a large emerald, and she puts on all the rings. When she pulls out the spoon, she lets out a high-pitched shriek of utter delight*

P'liekite: You remembered! *she turns the spoon over and over in her hands, obviously pleased with this 'treasure'. Then she looks up at James.*

P'liekite: You have called in your favor. And you have brought gifts. You must be in great...need. *she slides up to James and puts her face very close to his while her hand begins to slide down his chest* What can I do for you.

James: *blushing faintly, but does not push the mermaid away* I have two favors to ask of you. One for myself and one from the sea goddess.

P'liekite: She has returned to her true form. The entire ocean is singing about it! *she pauses* The goddess needs a favor?

James: *hands P'liekite another pouch that contains the pieces of eight* She said to take these to the king. It is vital that they remain together. They will retain her essence if something should happen in the final battle.

P'liekite: *her happiness somewhat diminished* The goddess is wise. She would not do this if she did not believe that things will be dangerous.

*The two pouches vanish, and P'liekite resumes stroking James' chest, this time unbuttoning his shirt.*

P'liekitea: Why must you always be wearing so many skins when we meet, James?

------

Shoot...out of time. Shall continue this later. Again. 😄 James needs to call in his favor.

oh wow... very interesting! thats a whole new vibe to the franchise, and i really like it. the mermaid character is very interesting! 🙂 good explanation with the coins. me like.

anxiously waiting for the rest! 🙂

oh and PS, im glad you took time to explain Beckett's intentions/dream to take over the world. that's great.

Is anyone going to continue on the ships? 😄

not till later. i'm preparing my rotten fruit to throw at my tv for later tonight. 😄

Why are you going to throw rotten fruit at your tv? What did it ever do to you? 🙁 😉

Lol, Surreal that was fantastic writing. I'm so glad where you have headed!

I always wanted mermaids included in POTC. They include just about everything else. I'm afraid to post anything because I think Surreal's on a roll. But I'll try.

Norrington: Human custom, I'm afraid.

P'liekitea: You must go back to the goddess now. (whispers in his ear) Tell no one how you know me. (dives backward back into the water)

Liz: James? (running up) Did it work? Did you see her?

Norrington: Yes, I did. I think it's all going to be all right now.

Liz: How in the world did you come across them?

Norrington: Another time, maybe. We need to get back to the others. I'm sure they think we're traitors now.

(Liz is obviously unsatisfied that he won't tell her everything)

(Norrington decides to change the subject)

Norrington: I suppose now is as good a time as any....you didn't answer me when I told you I still love you.

Liz (very taken aback and flustered): I thought we agreed to go slow and see how events turned out. (Norrington opens his mouth to say something) But I can see how unsatisfying that answer is.

Norrington: Have you given any thought to it? I understand we've had so much to contend with, one catastrophe after another, but, well, if we live through this....

Liz: Which we will. Trust a pirate, James. (flashes him a sincere smile)

Norrington: I do, but what I really want is for her to marry me.

awe yay! 🙂 the first proposal of the film. hooray!

surreal, in answer to your question, i'm just a little politically stressed out, and the state of the union address is on tonight.

Not to start any arguements, Kate, but are you a liberal or a conservative? I promise I'll love you either way. I have lots of liberal fans even though I'm proud to be a Republican.

I'm going to take a small break, hoping Surreal will continue a little and you'll bounce from it. I LOVE where we've all taken it. You guys are a pleasure to work with.

I'm neither. I'm a Christian. 😉 I try my best to support our leaders but I have too many friends in Iraq right now, and I don't believe in redemptive violence. My family are republicans, most of my friends are anarchists and liberals, and I guess I would vote for Obama in 08. does that help? Hopefully no arguments there!

Yeah, I'm having a great time with this story!!! 🙂

I'm mostly republican with hints of democrat in me, but not enough to be considered an independant. 😆

I've got tons of friends in Iraq too, and a lot who have come back from there. I hesitate to fuss about the war because all of my friends believe in what they are doing over there, and believe that it's important, plus I have friends who know the president and who like him, so....

😄

Also, the proposal was lovely, but er...Elizabeth was on her ship, James came to the shore alone. 😉 That's all right, I can work with it...give me a few minutes. 😄

Oh...Willo, I hate to do this too, but um...James was not finished asking for his favor from the mermaid...so I'm a going to have to do some fancy writing to fix it...I hope you all don't mind.... 😄

This is very, very long. There is a point, and it's all leading up to Swann's death. If you guys want an idea of what I'm trying to do, let me know and I'll explain so you can see if you like it.

It's very angsty, dramatic, and not very good for Norrington and Lizzie's relationship. 😄

-----

CUT TO THE BLACK PEARL

*The crew Will's ship has anchored the ship next to the Pearl, and Governor Swann and Barbossa board the Pearl.*

Swann: Where is Elizabeth?

Will: She's gone back to shore to get James. She said she'll be back in a few minutes.

Jack: Well, since we've all been reunited, what say you we break out some rum and have some drinks all around?

*There is a loud cracking sound from Will's ship. His crew shouts out in alarm, and suddenly, his ship begins to list sharply. Everyone runs to the railing and gapes at the humongous hole that is quite visible in the side the ship. Another cracking on the opposite side, where Elizabeth's ship is anchored is heard.*

Teague: *uneasily* There is something unnatural going on.

*Elizabeth's ship simply begins to sink down. There is no visible hole, but they can hear the sucking sound as water is taken in from somewhere in the hull.*

*Everyone looks to Gibbs, who looks completely lost.*

Gibbs: I have no lore for this, nor anything to ward of the evil, except to pray.

-----

CUT TO THE BEACH

*James is waiting for Elizabeth to respond, but he hears a soft singing, and a near compulsion to go to the water. He shakes it off, but he realizes that P'liekitea has remained behind, and he suddenly recalls that he hasn't finished his bargain with her.*

Elizabeth: James? James?

*James focuses on her slowly and frowns. There is another song in the air, demanding his attention, distracting him from his thoughts.*

James: Elizabeth, go to the boat and wait for me. I...need to finish something.

*Elizabeth looks like she's about to argue, but a lovely song fills her mind, and before she knows it, she finds herself back by the boat that she has rowed to shore. She blinks, confused, and is about to turn back for James when she spots her ship listing in the shoals.*

Elizabeth: What the...?

-------

CUT TO THE COVE (AGAIN) ----- LATE AFTERNOON

*P'liekitea swims up to the shore and waits for James. He seats himself beside her again, but is once again distracted by a song that is obviously not coming from the mermaid next to him.*

P'liekitea: Look at me James.

*She has to shake his shoulder to get him to focus on her.*

P'liekitea: Your favor James. What was the boon you would ask of me and my people?

James: *is gazing out to the sea again, but looks at P'liekitea slowly* Favor? Oh yes...there is war brewing and we need some --

*The song becomes stronger, and the urge to crawl into the water is almost irresistable. He is about to get up when a wet weight falls on him, and he finds himself lying on the beach. A soft nuzzling at his neck brings him back, and then a soft pure song brushes his mind, clearing away the haze.*

James: *dazed*What...what's going on?

*In the distance, five shark fins are clearly visible, and they are moving swiftly toward the cove. The tide is coming in, and the water is lapping up around James and P'liekitea.*

P'liekitea: Let me kiss you, James. Let me take you from here. If you ask it of me, I can keep you safe, away from them!

James: *strokes P'liekitea's hair gently* I can't. I have a responsibility.

*He pauses, sees the fins in the water*

James: What are they?

P'liekitea: They are dangerous. You must come with me.

*There is a keening, sharp sound, causing both P'liekitea and James to gasp with pain.*

James: No. Beckett must be stopped. He's gathering his troops near...near Tortuga. I ask of you ---

*Again there is a piercing cry, and James has to close his eyes to fight off the pain.*

James: I ask of you and your people to fight Beckett and his troops. You must hide yourself and...and get away. I'll distract -- take the coins. Go!

*P'liekitea hesitates, pushes herself up to her elbows and bends down to kiss James, to take him with her regardless of what he wants, but she sees that the fins are too close. There is no time. With a sound that is similar to a sob, P'liekitea throws herself in the water and swims frantically away.*

James: *groggy voice* At least Tia will be safe.

*He tries to crawl out of the water, somehow knowing that if he gets free of the water, he'll be safe, but the hypnotic song wraps around his mind, and he finds himself relaxing into the suddenly cool water. He starts slightly with alarm as three dark shapes pull themselves up onto the beach with him. Two other shapes are pursuing the fleeing mermaid*

*The figures are similar to P'liekitea in that they have fish tails instead of legs, and they are beautiful women. However, their eyes are dark and like a sharks, and their mouths are full of triangular teeth. All of them are various shades of grey, and on their backs they have large dorsal fins that look like a shark.*

Atropos (the Queen): He isss very ssstrong. We mussst take him into the water. But firssst...

*Atropos gathers the sluggishly struggling James into her arms and begins singing. James gazes up at her dark eyes, and suddenly James stops struggling, trapped in her gaze.*

Atropos: He isss lossst in the memory of hisss lossst ssship. We will take him down now, where he cannot fight usss.

*The three women drag James into the water, and take him into deeper waters, where they drag him into the dark depths.*

-----

SCENE CUTS TO ELIZABETH'S LONG BOAT ------ SUNSET

*The main characters have all gathered on the shore now, the ships having been moved to the shallows with the help of the Pearl. A fire has been built to help warm the crew up and to dry off their clothes*

Elizabeth: We need to look for James. Something isn't right. There's something out there...

Barbossa: If something has befallen him, then we should just stay with the code.

Swann: I must protest. James would go back for any of you. Is it fair to say that you will not do the same for him?

Will: Elizabeth, I will go with you.

Anamaria: *quickly* And I will too.

Teague: There's no need for that. Look over there!

*Teague points. In the dim light, they see James body floating limply in the water.*

Elizabeth: James!

*Will, Swann and Elizabeth rush to James' side and carefully pull him out of the water.*

Elizabeth: *she feels for a pulse* He's still alive. I don't understand what happened to him.

Will: He's freezing. Let's get him up to the fire and warm him up.

*Jack, Teague and the others have reluctantly approached the group, and with several arguments, they finally sort out who will help carry the unconscious man up to the fire.*

Will: What was James doing, Elizabeth?

-------

Ok, I have more...but I don't want to hog the story. One thing, and it's a biggie: James cannot wake up yet. Soon, but not yet. 😄

So play around with the pirates if you like, and I'll have James up and about and doing all kinds of stuff in a short while.

Eep, see, I thought they left together and then he went off to do his mermaid business and he came back to tell her it was all settled. I too, Kate, am a strong Christian and I think you know I'll be going into the Air Force in May as a lieutenant, so I'll probably go to Iraq at some point in my life too. I hope both yours and Surreal's friends come out okay and stay out of danger. Be sure to thank them when they come home.

One of you needs to continue the story. I don't know what to do.

I always thank the soldiers for what they do. I try to send goody boxes to them when I can afford to as well. I admire them for all their hard work and bravery, and I thank you, Willo, for joining the military. 😄

Hang on, I'm confused. What's going on? Somebody summarize from the time Liz took the pieces of 8. I have no idea what happened from that point on, hence why I wrote something that wasn't even close to what was going on. Just please make sense of this, someone.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZB0KXxe9aUo

For inspiration, ladies. Listen to the man's voice.....

---Liz and James stole the pieces of eight from all the pirates.

---Barbossa and Swann needed to get Will, Jack and the others to know what happened to their coins (which has not yet been discussed --- it would be excellent if that subject is covered while they wait for James to wake).

---Barbossa engages the Pearl in a mock battle to draw Elizabeth back.

---James takes the opportunity to go to shore and meet with his mermaid friend.

---Barbossa, Will, Swann and the others were on the Pearl when something (or someone) put holes in the bottom of Elizabeth and Will's ships.

---Elizabeth went to shore to fetch James.

---James proposes.

---Before Elizabeth can accept, James hears a strange song on the air. So does Elizabeth, and before she knows what's happening, she finds herself back by her boat.

---James finishes his bargain with P'liekitea.

---P'liekitea senses the danger from the karcharika (the shark women), and tries to convince James to kiss her so she can take him with her.

---James convinces P'liekitea that she needs to get the pieces of eight to safety, so she leaves James, who is entranced by the shark ladies.

---James is dragged into the ocean by the shark women, and later, at sunset, is found floating near the shore where the others are camped.

---James is unconscious, freezing cold, and cannot be woken. It's up to you guys if he has any injuries.

I think that covers it. Does that help? I didn't mean to make things confusing. 🙁
