i was playing with the idea of Jack and Anamaria being previously married for reasons other than true love. you know how sometimes people get married so the one of them can get a green card into the states? like that, only they were friends/comrades in the pirate business and maybe got married for convenience, or to have a show of it, or because some wacky adventure they were on at the time called for it. impersonating a cleric of the church of england... ya know...
it was a funny idea i tried, which Willo or Surreal or anyone can certainly shoot down! hahahaha. as i said, i was just shaking things up. i think in the world of pirates, marriage, love, and relationships all become really hazy concepts and the point of the trilogy in some respect is to get rid of the old stereotypes surrounding those relationships and play instead into the ideas of freedom, trust, friendship, attraction, etc, in an entirely new way.
so i though it would be funny to present yet another barrier to the relationship b/w will and anamaria, and Jack and anyone, because Will doesnt know this right now, and who knows how he will respond, and eventually, he'll have to throw off some old notions of the way things are supposed to go if he really wants to be with her.
all this to say, i'm extremely traditional in real life, and am using this story to test and cross all the boundaries i dont get to cross in real life. 😉
Wow, Kate. That's all I can say. I'd like to keep it because I want to know where it's going, but I think we'll have to edit that. It comes out of nowhere. What are you thinking of having Liz and James do? I thought they were the sanest of the bunch so far. I'll stall.
CUT TO WILL AND ANAMARIA
Will: Don't call it a last night, Anamaria.
Anamaria: Will (clearly thinking about what Jack said) I have to tell you something. And I'm afraid it will affect how you treat me.
Will: Don't tell me we were engaged at some point and you kissed Jack.
Anamaria: No.
Will: Good.
Anamaria: I was married to him.
Will: What? You failed to mention that!
Anamaria: Technically we are still married to one another. Will, don't look at me like that. We were in a mess. He was impersonating a clergyman, for goodness sake.
Will: And he married you?
Anamaria: Do you want to hear a story or do you want to do what I had in mind?
Will: At this point, I'd rather hear the story.
Anamaria: (sighs) He was impersonating a clergyman to get clues to the location of a treasure. Not important now. You wouldn't have recognized him, his hair back, eyes free of the liner. He was about to be caught, exposed for what he was, and they threatened to deport him to England. He'd never last in England, Will.
Will: What happened?
Anamaria: You know Jack. Outside he calmly said he couldn't leave his pregnant wife and they believed him. But inside, he knew he had no where else to turn and so begged me to marry him to save him. He said he'd make it worth my while. So we married, in a church and everything.
Will: And you've been married all this time?
Anamaria: Yes. But we have an understanding. We both wanted the chance to find true love and to, to, well, have some fun before we settled down. So we went our separate ways for a time. It wasn't until he stole my ship not too long ago that he came back into my life.
(Notices Will's not speaking)
Anamaria: It was a favor to an old friend. Captain Jack's saved my life more than once. It was the least I could do, and it was a favor with no strings attached. You must think me a harlot.
(She looks up. Will can't take his eyes off her. He's not saying anything, but we can tell by his face that at this moment, she's the most beautiful, most wonderful woman he's ever seen. He makes sure no one is around and takes his shirt off)
Will: I think you're better than you give yourself credit for.
(He takes her hands and brings them to her side as he gives her a passionate kiss. He places her hands around his back and embraces her. Since this is Disney, the camera stays on his upper half, but the more mature audience members know he is busy taking off his pants.)
Anamaria: (breaks away, stunned) Will, I won't be your revenge anymore.
Will: You're not my revenge. (kisses her) You're my brave crew member (kisses her cheek as he continues to hold her) You're my trusted companion, (kisses her eyebrow) You're (breaks away just long enough to look at her, then kisses her lips again)
(Anamaria begins to disrobe slightly)
VOICE: Will! Will! Are you in there? (knocking)
Will: (disoriented and clearly disappointed) Who is it?
Bootstrap: Son! Elizabeth and Norrington. They're nowhere to be found.
Will: What? (starts putting clothes back on. Anamaria wisely attaches a pistol to her belt)
(Will opens the door)
Bootstrap: Jack's organizing a small search party. I'd also keep an eye on our Calypso if I were you.
Will: Why?
Bootstrap: She's been acting strange, even for her.
Anamaria: Jack.
Bootstrap: What?
Anamaria: She's always wanted Jack. I wouldn't put it past her to purposely disappear those two and have us looking for them to get him alone.
Will: We have to risk that. They could be in danger.
(Boostrap heads out. Anamaria begins to follow but Will pulls her back)
Will: As soon as things quiet down, I'll pick up where I left off.
Anamaria: Oh. After you stab the heart of Davy Jones, say goodbye to your old fiancee, see to it Beckett doesn't harm pirates anymore, and make sure Jack remains safe the rest of his days?
Will: (sees her point) Pretty much.
(Anamaria smiles at him and kisses him)
Anamaria: Come find me when that day comes.

Kate, what are Liz and James doing?
I've been thinking about them. I had James come out and say he still wanted her because let's face it, he's had it bad for her since COTBP. He's loved her a long time. I think that's still hard for Liz to take in. I don't know what we need, but we need something to convince our Lizzie without a doubt that she is in love with James, or some clue that she's really falling in love with him.
We need to explore this thing with Barbossa and Mirella. That's really interesting and hats off to whoever thought of Barbossa once having a lover. Is she dead? Is she a pirate? What's the deal? And what's the deal with Barbossa? I suggest we have him help until the danger is over and then turn villain again. He's evil, a delicious evil, but evil.
Swann needs to die and Liz needs to kill whoever does it. Sorry. I think someone needs to die. Might as well be him. Frees Liz up to do whatever she wants with no ties.
Jack. Yeah......I like the idea he was married to Anamaria for convenience, but, and I'm a pervert mind you, him turning down Liz, marrying Anamaria just for necessity.....is he coming across as gay? People assumed that about him when COTBP came out, and I think that's ridiculous. Jack is almost a picture of masculinity. I don't know. I need other people's opinions on this. Is it realistic to not want to be with 3 gorgeous women now that Calypso is coming on to him? Or what?
hahaha good thoughts all around.
1. surreal and i keep talking about the possibility of james or elizabeth nearly dying the other leaping in front of the bullet, so to speak, to save them, and that being the turning point of understanding how deep their love is.
2. i have no idea what liz and norri are doing. i just thought it would be fun to have them conspiring together, scantily clad. it probably has something to do with jame's secret knowledge of the eitc and beckett and what it will take to defeat them, or maybe the mermaid surreal mentioned.
3. Barbossa. delicious evil. precisely. i wanted to play into the shades of similarity between him and jack, but as you said, have him return to being the smiling villian at the end of things. Mirella, in my mind, was a strong but innocent woman who loved Barbossa, but Barbossa had the call of the horizon and didnt want to drag her into a life of piracy, and so left her without warning. whether shes still alive, still loves him, or could return to him, are all ideas you guys can play with. i just needed a deeper explanation of why Jack let Elizabeth go so easily, because i cant watch dmc and pretend he didnt want her at one point.
4. throw in a jack sex scene. seriously. someone make it happen.
5. swann def needs to die, sorry big guy. it will be a turning point for elizabeth in her career.

Kate, back when you were debating N/E for the fun of it, you said that he was the perfect blend between Will and Jack because we've seen his dangerous side and his upstanding citizen side. Maybe somehow we can include that into Liz's psyche somehow, see that he's the perfect man for her?
Guys, I'm having a great time with this one. I think it's downright amazing. But it's convincing me the longer we go that I'm a J/E girl. I couldn't have them make out like what one of you did (can't remember who) but I would have had it go a lot further than that. Lol. This is great.
Guys this is a truelly fantastic script. Kate; I loved how Liz and Norrie kissed then were caught be Will, then Will and Anamaria kissed and then were caught by Jack! Haha I was cracking up. And then the Cabin 1, Cabin 2 ect. post was halarious! And really kool and best yet, I can't still seem to put where Norrie and Liz are going and where the stealing they're doing is going, I can't wait to find out! And Surreal, the idea of a mermaid was clever. And again, I can't wait to see where this is gonna be taken. And of course Willo, your posts never fail to amaze me, make me laugh shock me!

Surreal, I'm not adding scenes as we go. I'd like to finish this and then talk about what it needs. Most of the time, these fics really do make sense once you read it all as one continuous story. Read our other ones on fanfiction.net if you don't believe me. Search willofthewisp.
If you're going to have Liz or James "take a bullet" for the other one, have Liz do it for him. As far as I'm concerned, James has proven he loves her and Liz needs to make a sacrifice. This may need to happen before her father dies so it doesn't look like she's gone crazy with grief but that it's out of love. It always seems like it's harder to show on screen a woman proving her love for a man but so easy to show the man proving his love for a woman. Let's change things up and have Liz do it for him.
Oh, so we're killing off Gov. Swann?
And we'll see about Liz and James. I'm trying not to plan too far ahead for what will happen in the fic. I was just asking about the other scenes, since we sort of skipped ahead of stuff. I am keeping track of this one, and it was a big jump, so I didn't know if you wanted to add in scenes or not.

Yes, Surreal, somewhere in here, Swann needs to go, and possibly others. We're working with a large cast and if you haven't noticed, people seem to vanish and not come back for a while. It would just make things easier.
I can add in scenes if you want, but I think it's going at a decent pace. Read it all over again when it's done and we'll see where it's a little rocky. Part of the fun is reading it and thinking, "wtf? How the hell did that happen? Oh those crazy writers."
A good writer always knows how to juggle that many characters. 😉
Although I suspect that we'll see Swann, DJ, Tia, Bootstrap, Beckett and Mercer go. I don't think it's because there's not enough for them to do, I just think it's because that's how the story needs to progress.
Elizabeth losing her father would go a long way toward helping her understand Will's desire to save his father, and it would also help bind them together. It also gives her motivation to lead the pirates in the battle against the EITC. 😄
Obviously DJ has to die if Will stabs the heart, and then I don't know about Bootstraps life and how long he'll stay alive. It would kind of suck if Will had to kill him because his dad was just too dangerous to allow to live any longer.
And Beckett has to die because he is the Uber-Evil Villain. 😄
Add to the list Teague Sparrow for who we can kill off. Do we really need to keep him around?
