Norribeth: the KMC fic

Except that Jones can't order James to do anything, since he doesn't have the coin, and if Elizabeth were a 'goddess', James couldn't possibly kill her.

So no, it doesn't make sense. I can see maybe Jones screwing up Beckett's plans, but he can't.

The coin controls James; he's not just some robot a random person can order around. The spell on him is quite specific.

They still have the coin. Our heroes only have the necklace. Right? That's what I thought.

James under the spell might be able to kill a goddess/nymph... anyways, it's not totally crazy to think they would send him for that purpose... but like I said, it wasn't a plot-oriented decision--- i just felt like James and Elizabeth needed some time together. i always like it when main characters try to kill each other.

surreal, are you doing some or should i go ahead?

I'm posting.

k 🙂

Surreal, I had Jones send James to go kill Jack a long time ago. I don't think he's all that concerned about it now, so I think that fits fine.

Who the hell has the coin? This is so confusing because when I last read, Davy had it. Also, they discovered way back when that they had been played when they believed Liz was a goddess. They know now she's not, and it's perfectly understandable for Davy to want to kill her just for trying to match wits against him and think she's as worthy and powerful as his Calypso. Do the sea people have the coin? I must have missed that.

I'm almost done with my post...

Willo, I just quoted where the coin changed hands...

Beckett has the coin.

The point is, Jones can't order James to do anything now, because he doesn't have the coin.

Since Davy is planning on dying, I don't think he gives a fig anymore on whether Jack and Co. survive or not. He's just wanting to move on.

As I said, I'm almost done with my post.

-----CUT TO THE BLACK PEARL -- BELOW DECKS

*James is still bound to the chair, but he is growing restless, and Elizabeth can see that his eyes are slowly changing color again.*

Elizabeth: *worried* James?

James: *shakes his head and winces* I'm being called...difficult to think of anything else.

Elizabeth: James, James, look at me.

*Elizabeth kneels down next to James. He flinches away from her.*

Elizabeth: You have to stay here.

James: *gasping* Too...too much. Too confusing.

Elizabeth: James, you are not allowed to leave.

James: *moans and closes his eyes* Please...stop. I can't...

Tia: *from somewhere in the shadows* You're killing him.

Elizabeth: *looks around* I'm not! I'm trying to save him.

*There is a distant, keening song from outside the Pearl. James struggles even more against his bonds.*

Tia: *steps out from the shadows* He cannot be saved this way, Elizabeth. And he is more of a danger to you than he is to Beckett.

Elizabeth: *looks at James* I have the necklace. I can have him stay here, where he'll be safe.

Tia: *disapproving* And you see how it is affecting him? His mind is being torn apart by those who hold power over him. Give him to me.

Elizabeth: *shakes head, draws her sword* No! I don't know what you want him for, but --

*There is a sound of rope being pulled apart, and Elizabeth looks over to see that James is nearly free, his struggles finally paying off.*

Elizabeth: No James!

*James lets out a keening cry and slumps back in the chair. His face is quite pale now, and sweat has broken out on his forehead. Elizabeth looks frightened.*

Tia: Do you see? Do you see what it is you have done? He is dying, Elizabeth.

*Crabs skuttle out of the darkness and cut through the last of James' bindings. The admiral slides out of the chair and onto the floor, his body trembling.*

Tia: You are willing to fight for him. Are you willing to let him go?

Elizabeth: I'm not willing to lose him, if that's what you mean.

Tia: When the time is right, you will bring him back to you. But for now, you must sacrifice what you want for what is best.

Elizabeth: James...

*James shudders and tries to crawl away from her, away from the necklace and the terrible pain in his head. Elizabeth looks stricken.*

Elizabeth: Protect him for me.

Tia: *nods* I will do my best. Now go.

*Elizabeth leaves, but not before pausing at the door to watch James for a moment. Then she closes the door behind her.*

Tia: Ah, James.

*The sea goddess kneels next to James and smoothes the damp hair away from his face.

James: *barely audible voice* Hurts...

Tia: I know, James. I will try to help you...

*The two slowly fade from view*

----DECK OF THE BLACK PEARL

*Elizabeth is crying and trembling as she comes out on deck. Jack and Will both look at her with worried expressions.*

Will: Elizabeth! What happened? *he glares at Jack.*

Jack: Why does everyone assume that if something goes wrong it's my fault?

Will: ....because it usually is.

Elizabeth: It's Tia...she's taken James.

Barbossa: Well, there goes our leverage. Why'd she take him?

Elizabeth: *dully* James is dying. She said she could help.

*A canonball hits the Pearl and everyone dodges shrapnel*

Jack: *no time to worry now* Everyone to battle stations! Load the canons and prepare to fire!

Jack: Oh boy...

*The first of many ships from Beckett's army are in view.*

-------------------

THE FLYING DUTCHMAN

*Beckett and Davy are standing silently on the deck when Tia appears with James beside her. James looks better, except for his eyes. They are blank and empty, although he seems to be aware of what is happening around him.*

Tia: See what I have brought back for you, Cutler? A fine officer to lead your troops.

Beckett: *skeptical* And how do I know he won't do anymore disappearing acts on me?

Tia: *looks haughtily upon Beckett* I said he will not. Is that not good enough.

*Beckett mutters something uncomplimentary under his breath, and watches James focus on him.*

Beckett: What did you do to him?

Tia: I simply strengthened your hold over him. It won't hold for long, so use your time wisely.

Do you have any questions on this post? I hope I made it fairly clear.

It's just confusing on what does what. And to be fair, all this is going to be edited before the finished product becomes a fanfic anyway.

hehehe not right now, but probably later on. 😉 good stuff! i'll be back later and do some.

That's good. I'm sorry it's confusing. I try to label everything consistently.

And I'm sorry for being so grumpy. I think I'm just over-tired, and I'm so sick of...well, being sick. *sighs*

But do you sort of get what's happening?

Anyway, my idea for what Jack could do to pay back Tia. How does everyone feel about her asking Jack to kill her and Davy? Or is that not part of the epic storyline we have going? Whatever. Have Davy stab his own heart.
Just to make sure I'm not braindead

Anamaria has the heart

Beckett has the coin (we will edit this so the conversation I have him and davy have will be different)

Liz has the necklace which is a lot more useless than the coin

I think every once in a while a summary would be a good idea since it's gotten a little more complicated.

I still think it was okay for him to send Norrington to kill Jack way back when. Calypso wasn't around him and she's very calming to him. Now I don't think he cares whether Jack dies or not, but he had already sent him out, so I figured he would just be like "meh, no big bother."

Well, Davy is the only one who can kill a goddess...

If Jack stabbed the heart, he'd have to be captain.

Tia is a goddess, so I assume she could kill Davy, and Davy can kill her...sort of do it at the same time, maybe.

But perhaps Tia has a weapon that will kill both of them and asks Jack to do it. Jack doesn't have to stab the heart then...he could just stab DJ and Tia with whatever weapon we make up.

Summary:

----Elizabeth had Norrington on the Pearl.

----Jones and Beckett decide that sending James off was not a good idea after all.

----Tia vanishes.

----Elizabeth orders James to not leave, but it seems to have an adverse affect on him.

----Tia pops over to the Pearl and tells Elizabeth that having so many people trying to control him is killing James.

----Elizabeth is reluctant to believe Tia, but has no choice when James collapses from the pain. Elizabeth finds out James is dying because of the stress on his mind.

----Tia convinces Elizabeth to give her James.

----Tia does something to James to make him more compliant for Beckett, but it will not last long.

----I know it's not in the post, but Tia does not give James to Beckett because she is on Beckett's side; she is trying to spare James the horrible pain he's been in.

So to summarize the summary:

James is on the Flying Dutchman now, completely under Beckett's control.

And everything else you said was correct, Willo. 😄

CUT TO THE PEARL

(Everyone is back to their cannons. Liz looks pretty mad)

Liz: Where the hell are the other ships?

Barbossa: Argh, that's what I was askin' long before!

Will: We can't worry about it now.

(Another cannonball flies through, fortunately high enough that the Pearl isn't taking on water and everyone is all right)

Anamaria: They keep getting closer.

Gibbs: I'll go up and try to out-maneuver them. (runs up on deck)

Liz: I'm going with him. (runs up)

Jack: Anyone else?

(everyone keeps doing what they're doing)

Jack: Good.

(Suddenly, a wave of calm like the eye of a storm hits. Gunfire has stopped. Cannonballs have stopped.)

Will: What's happening?

Ragetti: Maybe they surrendered.

Marty: Shut him up, someone.

Pintel: What's that sound?

(Heavy footsteps are running all around the top deck of the Pearl. Everyone below is getting a little nervous)

Bootstrap: Prepare for battle.

Gibbs: Jack! Jack!

(Jack runs up)

CUT TO PEARL'S DECK

Jack: What? Why did you stop?

Teague: Because I told him to. (Teague gestures his hand. Out among the horizon are all the pirate ships) Looks like we didn't need those Pieces of 8 after all.

(Jack eyes his dad suspiciously, than almost lovingly...he opens his mouth, but catches himself)

Jack: Fine time for you to show up. We've been busy.

Teague: That's what I like to hear! Where is everyone?

Jack: Ask someone else.

Woot! Teague is back!

And with a force to be reckoned with.

Liz: Isn't it amazing?

(Will runs up, puts two and two together)

Will: This should even the odds.

Teague: Just don't ask me to do it again because it won't happen.

Will: If only the merpeople would arrive. We'd have an unstoppable force. (thinks)

[note: I don't think she told Will what the ring was for, but if she did, this works too]

Will: Wait. (starts rubbing it)

Liz: What are you doing?

Will: Increasing our firepower.

(Spoon swims up)

Spoon: Poor James! He is back with that wretched Beckett. But I see you used the ring.

Will: Are your people ready to fight?

Spoon: Hungry for it!

P'liekitea: Now I must speak to Jack Sparrow. If you change your mind about joining the battle, you need only to drop this into the water.

*She hands Will a ring, her fingers lingering on his a little longer than necessary before she dives back into the water.*

So no, I guess it didn't say specifically that it would summon Spoon, but that was sort of the indication. 😄

okay, great job!!! 🙂 i'm loving this. very epic, the battle beginning, Teague back (that was a great entrace) 🙂 hooray!

I like the idea of Jack killing Davy Jones and Tia--- and perhaps that was the huge cost of Tia's bargain, that Jack would have to become captain--- and he could explain to Will and Liz what he's about to do and how it's for the best, and so in response, Elizabeth or whoever could sink/destroy the Dutchman so that when Jack kills them both, he doesn't have to become Captain. Something like that would be totally epic! 🙂

Wow this is fantastic guys! Terrific work as usual, lol.
