CUT TO TORTUGA
A couple of weeks have gone by. Hey, this is going from off the coast of Fiji all the way back to the Caribbean. The waters seem calm. Those in the navy have their freedom now, not under the EITC and the Flying Dutchman seems more like a glimmer of hope than a deathtrap.
CUT TO THE FLYING DUTCHMAN AND THE PEARL SIDE BY SIDE
(Bootstrap, Anamaria, Pintel, and Ragetti are on the Dutchman captained by Will. Everyone else is on the Pearl.)
Pintel: And I still say, after all that, we all deserved a drink.
Ragetti: That's what Tortuga's for! With Sao and Beckett gone, all the women, all the drinkin', and all the debauchery ye could have asked for will be there.
Pintel: It better.
(Tortuga is roaring with drunken debauchery, an orgy of hornpipe music and clumsy dancing and chasing people around and barfights)
Pintel: Now this is what I remember it being....
Ragetti: I'm way overstimulated.
CUT TO THE PEARL DOCKING
Jack: Ah. Memories. (sees Scarlett and Giselle walking around. Hides behind Gibbs)
Gibbs: Aw, Jack. Everyone's a twitterpated now but you.
Jack: I'll remind you to not use words beyond me understanding in me presence.
Teague: That's right good thanks for your old man, it is. "Me daddy saved me life. I think I'll go drink more and possibly wind up in a hangman's noose."
Jack: Done and done.
Liz: Where is she?
(Everyone kind of clams up)
Gibbs: How do we even look for a mermaid in Tortuga?
Jack: Very carefully.
Teague: Think about it, Jack. Think about it.
(Jack rolls his eyes)
Liz: What's he talking about?
Jack: I should think about if I want rum in me rum, or just rum. (makes Liz laugh. Puts her a little more at ease. The crew starts searching)
Liz: Poor Will. It's so unfair he has to stay. Every once in a while a sailor needs to touch dry land.
Gibbs: 10 years is once in a while to some, miss. Besides, he ain't alone. He's got his father there with him and the crew.
(Jack can't resist and bursts into laughter)
Teague: No need to make fun of his crew now.
Jack (calming down a little): That's not it. Don't worry, Lizzie. I'm sure brave William's not alone.
CUT TO THE FLYING DUTCHMAN
(Will and Anamaria are in the captain's cabin's bed, tangled up in the sheets. She is laying on her side. Will is behind her, his chest pressed against her back with their arms around each other)
Anamaria: Don't you feel the slightest bit of guilt not being able to help the others search?
Will: No. (laughs, bends down and kisses her) I think I've done quite enough, not being able to leave the ship and all. (suddenly very disappointed) You won't be able to live like that, will you?
Anamaria: Oh. Will.
Will: No. You're a pirate. I can't do that to you.
Anamaria: (long pause) Don't you think I should make that choice?
Will: Could you make that choice? I'm not going to ask you to marry me, Anamaria.
Anamaria: I'm already married. (but knows what he means)
Will: I'm not going to call off another engagement because of circumstances beyond my control.
(Anamaria kisses him. She turns her body, engulfing Will. They're about to "go at it" again)
Anamaria: You're the captain of the ship. You make the decisions. But I make the ones about where I go and what I do, and I love you.
(Will is too turned on for words. Fade to next scene)
CUT TO TORTUGA
(They are in the bar from DMC. Things are definitely back to normal around here)
Gibbs: 'Spect we should be askin' folks if they seen anything out of the ordinary.
Teague: In Tortuga? Everything out of the ordinary is ordinary here.
(they see a beautiful woman off by herself. She looks familiar)
Liz: Oh my.....
Teague: What is it, lass?
Liz: That's her.
