Sam Worthington doesn't have any charisma. And he hasn't mastered covering up his Australian accent yet. It baffles me that this guy keeps getting such big roles.
Ahh. Finally, a point we agree on.
He seems like a very Generic actor. Nothing really stands out about him. I also do not understand why he keeps getting huge roles.
And I don't care about his accent too much, it doesn't come through very often.
I really liked this movie. A lot.
I saw it more than once in theaters, which is a first for any film in my life. The pacing, imagery and plot (yes plot!) were all handled perfectly to appeal to my brain. (There is a reason that movies like this make a bunch of money: they are easy to like.)
That said, the experience was different out of theaters. I've seen it on everything from a 56 inch plasma tv to the tvs on an arrow bus. (Both of these were from the DVD.) I have to admit that the DVD version, at least, is a significant step down from the theaters.

I like Avatar, but this:Stil bugs me.
I believe that was the point, he had a conscience. He knew what they were doing was wrong.
And the movie does establish that these weren't Marines in the traditional sense, but more mercenaries with a Military background. They were working for a private organization - not the US government.
