this it true about BB but id like to hear what part of the UK you are from
as im finding that many of the kids saying there is no racism on here come from quiet little villages, areas with barely any ethnic minorities or live some some sub SKINS/benneton poster lifestyle where kids of races get along just fine whilst getting trashed to a bit of THE GOSSIP.
I come from Newcastle, which is one of the biggest cities in England, it has quite a large China town and lots of other ethnic minorities so there are plenty of varieties in cultures.
I live in West London, London being the most diverse city in the World. However, racial tension depends on exactly where you go. There are plenty of inner city areas where many races co-exist and there is not as much racial tension as there could be. I think everyone is so used to eachother now race is not an issue in most cases. There are certain areas where mainly one race lives (like Southall in West London - "little India" but also has an ever growing somalian population) or certain parts of Brixton and Hackney and Harlesden where there are high populations of black people. There's the Turks in Tottenham, there's China Town, Bangladeshi's in East London, Irish in Kilburn, Jews and Arabs in North London, and even small close nit spanish and Italian communities. These communities have been there for years and are very much part of the picture. Of course recently there has been a recent influx iof Russian, albanian, polish, romanian, bulgarian people. From my experiences the local English and the already established foreign communities are resentful of the newly landed East europeans. There is racism but not on a huge scale and English white people are not the only offenders. The Asian community can be very racist, especially towards othe migrant communties.
The most tension on inner city estates is between gangs, but this is little to do with race IMO.
For a place with so many cultures, there relatively little tension in the capital.
