So what's the story with the miniseries? Is there going to be an actual plot/super villain, or is it going to be mainly an introduction, of sorts?
All the above, it's going to have countless supervillians, as heroes and villians are fleeing America to escape the Supehuman Registration Act and Omega Flight has to step in
Oh I'm adding them to the respect thread soon, and he does good, he was winning the fight and he has a flashback of Alpha Flight dying so he has an emotional breakdown and starts crying. The Wrecking Crew took the opportunity to throw a tanker on him blowing up and then they attacked him on the ground and the issue ended. We very well could still see Tanaraq, as from the interview with Kolins the Wrecking Crew might be getting killed.
"SCOTT: I love the Wrecking Crew – they’re just a bunch of thugs wanting to be rich and party all the time. It’s the 80’s brought to horrific Marvel proportions. I hope they come back. I mean after they’re ki - ooops. Ahem. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. "

Walter had an emotional breakdown and was drinking before the fight. It wasn't that bad, it also had great art. I would have posted the scans in the respect thread, but I had to go to work

So anyone else pick it up?
I did. Thought it was a great read but had hoped that they would have covered more than they did. I already knew most of want happened in the first issue. I did like the rationale behind having a team of mostly Americans. Its the Americans fault, let them deal with it. Its basically just how I called it
Here's the fight guys...

Omega Flight #1 of 5: Wrecking Crew [Sasquatch I]
An emotional distraught Walter still reeling from Alpha Flight dying has become a shell of himself. He's drinking and doubting himself as shown in the first page, and when he arrives to take the Wrecking Crew he basically was landing the heavier blows (making them bleed far more) and shrugging of theirs. He was doing exceptionally well until he had a mental breakdown and had a flashback of AF dying promting him to stop and start crying. The Crew took this opportunity to throw a tanker on him and jumping him when he was on the ground then the issue ends. Man the crew were evil in this issue, killing dozens of people and raping several woman. Looks like they have been brought back to their non-jobbing forms as Thor busters. My money is on Talisman coming to his aid or Tanaraq appears, as interview from Kolins hinted at the crew is going to be killed.

Judging from the end of issue one, I'd say Beta Ray Bill shows up on the first page of issue two, and the Wrecking Crew lets out a collective "Uh-Oh." 😄
Bill? hmm...that would be interesting and would go along with the Crew getting killed. My money is on Talisman appearing as she might feel guilty turning down Walter's offer of joining the team. She eventually becomes the leader as revealed in Civil War: Battle Report

Yep, I had no problem with the Americans. The reason it was slow pace as the first issue was written to be an on-going, when they heard the news they were downgraded Oeming had to rewrite the entire series afterwards. So I bet were going to get a fast paced series to try to keep peoples attention.
Yea I figured thats what happened so it didn't bother me as much.

Actually I was thinking Bill too. It'd be a way to introduce him into the book, a nice homage given the WC history with Thor. It could still serve to link Talisman to the team. I was thinking maybe Walter gets injured, Bill rescues him and maybe takes him to Talisman who in turn feels bad and gets back into the game.
Either way, I'm looking forward to the next issues. This was a hell of a lot better than Avengers: Initiative and yet that was made an ongoing instead of this.

I actually wouldn't mind Bill, as it would be Asgardian vs. Asgardian. Very possible and since Walter is injuired mentally and physically gives up his leadership and gives it to Talisman as she is suppose to be the leader
I'm picking it up tommorow, I heard there was a Starship Troopers scene in it..."MEDIC"

Yea Bill showing up would be awesome. Looking forward to seeing the team.
Eh, A:I pushed all the wrong buttons for me. And, honestly, I didn't get the Starship reference till after. Had a good laugh then
