Doubt it as it took the Ancient One and the Northern Gods working together to put Mauvais in that comatose state for hundreds of years.

Also just revealed Scott Kolins has left Marvel, and in an interview said he was actually going to leave when they demoted Omega Flight

First off no he wasn't, all Alpha Flight did was release the Gods of the Arctic and Nelvanna beat Mauvais. He was about to kill them all till Nelvanna was released. Also it was said in the comic his power was diverted between the Wendigo army and the magical column blocking off the Northern Gods from our plane. So meh!

Also as nuts as this sounds look at Alpha Flight's track record they have defeated people far stronger ie. Elder Gods and Cosmic Beings so meh to losing to Alpha Flight

Yeah I have been reading it just picked them up, and we knew the Collective was still in him way back in New Avengers. Why Marvel felt that Pointer deserved a 12 issue story is beyond me. There were even talks of giving Sasquatch an on-going.

I'm glad that Avengers: The Initiative got an ongoing (it was Omega Flight that was going to be ongoing and Initiative limited) though, but I agree with you, they did screw it over quite a bit.

It was one of the things that made Scott Kolins leave.

Marvel Comics Presents is selling poorly, so that's not going to help the hype as no one is reading it.

Oeming has said he doesn't want to do Omega Flight anymore [pissed about the downgrade] and Scott Kolins is gone from Marvel

Well keep in mind Scott and Mike had to drastically alter the story because of the downgrade which was only revealed to them like a month before release. They even said the downgrade drastically hurt the quality of the book.
