okay, since this thread was sinking, I decided I would write a dance scene 🙂 I really hope you guys like it...I haven't written in sooo long, so theres prolly a lotta things that suck in it, but hey, I'd forgotten how much fun it was to write j/l scenes!
here it is...enjoy😄
There’s a full moon in the sky, and the Pearl is docked at a little known port near Singapore. Faint music can be heard from what Jack could only presume was a party of sorts. After making his way around about half of the ship, he stopped and leaned against the railing, closing his eyes and listening to the music. He heard footsteps coming nearer, and knew it could only be one person at this hour. He smirked as he heard a groan against the railing next to him, but didn’t open his eyes. It was quiet for a moment, and then:
Liz: Beautiful, isn’t it?
Jack (looking down at her) : What?
Liz: The moon. It’s full tonight.
Jack (still looking at her) : Yes, luv. Beautiful.
Liz looks up at him and smiles as she realizes he wasn’t talking just about the moon. Suddenly shy, she looks over her shoulder at the lights reflected on the water from the building where the music is playing, the swirling figures making the shadows dance.
Liz: Lovely music, too. Reminds me of when I was younger, and they would throw parties, with ladies in gorgeous gowns, and men wearing their finest jackets....
Jack: Mmm. Takes me back to when I was just a lad meself.
Liz (raising her eyebrows) : You dance?
Jack (fakes being insulted) : Don’t act so surprised. I wasn’t always the notorious pirate I am today.
A new melody strikes up, a little louder now. It’s a tune Liz recognizes a few steps of, from when she used to be instructed back in Port Royale. She holds her hand out to Jack.
Liz (grinning) : May I have this dance?
Jack (bows and takes her hand) : Of course, milady.
He pulls her in closer, and wraps his hand around her waist. She giggles, and puts both her arms around his neck. They sway back and forth silently, in rhythm with the music. Liz begins to get more comfortable, and leans her head against Jack’s chest, listening to his heart beat. Before they know it, the music is over, and Liz begins to pull back, slowly...uncertainly.
Jack (barely above a whisper) : Wait....please, stay.
Liz’s eyes dart from Jack to the cabin where she sleeps. This was the most contact they’d had since they’d rescued him at world’s end, and she definitely didn’t want this night to end. Turning back to him, she finds herself unable to pull away.
Liz: Alright....
Another song strikes up behind them, faster than then the last.
Jack: What d’ya say, one more?
Liz smiles again and moves closer to him. She barely knows the steps, but he seems quite familiar with it as he twirls her expertly across the deck. Dipping her down, then pulling her back up, immediately sending her spinning away from him once again, just to be pulled back in. Finally, unable to keep up with the steps, Liz trips and lunges into Jack, who, surprised, falls.
Liz makes no attempt to pull herself off of him, but instead smiles at how close they are. Arranging herself so they’re face to face, she works her fingers into the spaces between his, and pins them down on the ground. Their faces are now barely an inch apart. Her smile widens as she realizes the last time they were this close, she had sentenced him to his death. Apparently he was thinking the same thing.
Jack (breathing heavily) : In control once again, I see.
Liz : Mmm.... Makes me wonder.
Jack: What?
She leans in closer, so her lips will brush against his when she talks.
Liz: If maybe Captain Sparrow doesn’t just like being take advantage of.
Jack : Now how would you get a crazy idea like that?
Liz: Oh, I can think of a few ways.
Slowly closing the few centimeters between them, she presses her lips lightly against his. Though she let her guard down for mere seconds, she suddenly found herself flat on the deck of the Pearl, Jack pinning her down.
Jack : Sorry, darling, but not even you can best Captain Jack Sparrow.
Liz (pauses for a moment) : I already have.
Saying nothing more, he lowers himself upon her, pressing his mouth hard on hers. As he pulls away, almost painingly slow, she catches his bottom lip in her teeth, before slowly releasing it, her eyes pleading for him to stay and finish what he started. Though he’s never one to turn away from a girl in need, he forces himself to pull away from her. He walks, almost struts, back to his cabin, leaving her lying, still gasping, on the deck of the pearl to watch him go.
okay...sorry it's so long....i kinda got carried away.............a little...hehe🙂
