Not for others to use it.

Not that I personally mind, just an objective analysis of the situation.

Also, that you can get most things off the Internet, doesn't make it legal, nor do the owners have to like or tolerate it.

Yep, that's what a lot of people do.

And yet it's basically art haven to the rest who see it, so there definitely is going to be some work stolen. Not really much to prevent that.

To show off their work. Stop trying to sound smart.

It's the internet, a lot of people ignore copyrighting sadly.

srug They shouldn't have to.

No doubt about that. What is your point? It gets stolen anyways, so it doesn't matter that it happens and the owner as well as KMC should tolerate it?

Yes, there are people who are nice and honourable and respect that.

And there are those who don't. They should realise that. It happens.

If they're really zealous about it, then make it more protected.

That's my point.

Yes. And. So. What?

Does the fact that women get raped mean that a woman that gets raped should accept that and file it under "it happens"?

That people that see it should just go away and say "Oh well, it happens"?

No, you're comparing bears and chairs.

Read what I said above.

Both illegal. You just judge the one to be worse than the other.

Also, how does that make sense. They are artists they want to do the following things with their property: They want to show it to people. They want feedback. They want the following thing (rightfully) not to happen: It to be stolen and used without their permission.

How can they do the one that they want to do (legally) if they have to keep it in private to avoid the illegal theft?

I am sure, you would agree with me on normal circumstances. I assume you are one of the TFT members or a close friend of that girl, or you wouldn't defend such a ridiculous stance.

You're comparing a woman getting raped to an artist having her work plagiarized?

Ridiculous. They're both crimes. That's all.

Yes, they do. They do want to show it off, they do want feedback from other artists. Which is why they joined DeviantArt.

What can they do to prevent their work from being stolen, however? On DeviantArt, not too much.

It's their decision to weigh the risk vs. benefit. And some are on the losing side.

This is a terribly ridiculous thread. euro

I just did. It is exagerated. But similar reasoning. Therefore an acceptable comparison. It doesn't hurt the person quite as much, doesn't seem like a decent justification.

You are talking bullshit dude. Yes, they risk having their work stolen. It is not right because of that. It is also not their fault because of that.

What happened is that someone did actually steal from an artist there. You try to justify that by saying, well there was a risk that it was stolen. Again. SO ****ING WHAT?

No, it's ridiculous.
If you had compared it to like, shoplifting or something it would have been more understandable but rape?

It's not their fault, but it's still reality that they have to cope with. If they can accept the risk of having it plagiarized then it's their decision and no one should tell them different. If they blithely ignore it and act indignant when it is, no one should tell them different.

Wrong. I'm not saying that the person who did stole it is justified in doing so. I'm not blaming the artist. However, the artist should have realized the risks of doing something like putting it where everyone can see it.

Sure. Shoplifting then.

Okay, why do we argue then? Since we agreed that it is a risk they took.

That's just a fact.

Sadly, I believe you adopted this new argument just now, because you realized your mistake.

What makes me think that? Well...this post where...you defend the wrongdoing:

Big. F*cking. Deal.

It's not like she claimed that she Photoshopped/drew the whole thing herself.

But, hey, people can judge for themselves. I personally just think you are full of shit.

(Also, please, I know it is one of the few times where it is justified...but could you guys not post "owned" pics? I know I am right. You don't have to support me. It's just low. Thanks)

No German will tell me what to do.

Why are we arguing? Good question.

I don't even know where it began anyways.

I wasn't justifying her using it for her own as much as I was defending her from you and others sniping mercilessly at her. Look back where I said she was naive. That was early on too.

Shame, I had a healthy respect for you before you claimed I was full of shit.

I am sorry for losing your respect. Especially over a matter where you are so clearly wrong. If you change your mind, let me know.

Anyways. Bottom line (and all that everyone you argued against said) is:

She should not have used a copyrighted picture.

Can we agree on that? If so, that topic is done for me and believe me I won't hold a grudge for you and much even less her. As she was naive. As you said.

Being a formal debate, I try not to throw out any unnecessary insults.

What? I thought you said we just agreed, now I'm wrong?

I'll drink to that, at least.

I on the other hand do. It makes me feel better when I have to repeat a fact over and over again without the "opponent" realizing and/or understanding.

Well, lets say your last point is right. Mostly because it is mine. Liked how you tried to switch that though and make it seem like a misunderstanding.

cool pics

You are such an idiot. Calling people names at the end of every post simply in order to humiliate them. I mean, 'toots' and 'broad'? You think you're Bugsy Malone? 🙄

Also, again with the flapping egos. Shut the f.uck up, people.
