Libery city is such a New York throwback. Can't Rockstar make up their own image of Liberty city? There is a lot of things in the game that are similar to the things of New York.
1) The statue of Happiness is supposed to be the statue of Liberty
2) Theres a bridge that looks like the Brooklyn bridge
3) Theres a building that looks like the Empire state building
Rockstar, for the love of god, make your own damn city! 😠

The city was modeled directly from New York, just as Vice City was modeled from Miami and San Andreas was modeled from L.A. You just found this out?
What is bad about modeling in game cities after actual one's? It takes much more work to model a city from an actual one and they do a good job at it. Personally, i like murdering people in times Square.
The city is fine to me, the GTA3 Liberty was its own city, but I still prefer the new NY version.
I think this GTA really loses its legs after the story is finished. I assume R* wanted multiplayer to help with that, but I think a lot of people dont really care for it. The move into realism seems to be a bit controversial, most people played GTA because it was crazy over the top. It still has graphic violence and the best sense of humor in gaming, but its hard to not feel like something is missing when you arent playing the story. I really hope the new content will provide more than just new missions, new non story activities are really needed, otherwise ill blow through the missions and then wait for pack 2.
I think the Saints Row guys are doing a very smart thing, attacking the parts of the game that have really put off a lot of GTA fans, and offering the kind of things those people miss about IV.

Don't mind him, he's young and kind of foolish.

you know, i actually thought that the realistic graphics became it's own character in the game. I was glad to see a departure from the cartoonish realm. The life like reactions to gunshots and car collisions is incredible, but the driving seems to different. The driving is to simulation for me. I miss being able to tear ass through the cities taking corners at top speed and not spinning out. The driving by no means is broken though, it can almost hold up as a racing game. I thought the developers did a good job going with more focus on character development. In the previous GTA games, i didnt care about the story or character, i just played for the fun. In Gta 4, i played for the exact opposite.
Do you know when the first pack of the new content will release?
It would have been cool if GTA4 had a crossover kinda like Sanandreas where Carl Johnson met that guy who doesnt talk (forgot name lol) from GTA3. Perhaps it would have been cool if Niko met the non-talking man and Catalina.
In case you dont know or havent even played Sanandreas, Catalina said that her and that guy were going to Liberty City together. If you ask me, Rockstar forgot to add couple extra people in GTA4.
