Grand Theft Auto IV

I have not finished it, I lost interest in the missions about half way through the game and therefor stopped playing it. The game attempts to be too real, car turning circles are too large, making driving a chore at times... I found myefl just getting taxis everywhere and in a freeroaming driving game that is not exactly very redeeming. Radio stations left a lot to be desired, the decent talk radio stations were too short so looped too frequently. Plus I could never quite get the perfect balance of radio and dialogue in car to hear either perfectly during escort missions. The combat was greatly improved, not much to sniff at in that respect, a substantial upgrade from San Andreas.

Not a bad game by any means, just didn't hold my attention, certainly not worthy of all the praise it recieves though IMO.

Anyone gotten the DLC yet?

I was surprised to hear how much content it included (from the GT review http://www.gametrailers.com/player/45645.html), and I'll definitely pick it up again, except for pigeons and jumps I've done everything in GTA already, so I would love some more content.

A friend of mine is hardcore for GTA and since he is without internet he might come by tomorrow to get the DLC, so I'll definitely check it out if it happens.

I've heard that it has some gratuitous penis

Could someone please explain to me how the trophy system works. It says I have to start a new game to earn them. Now if I save at some point on the new file does that mean I won't be able to earn anymore trophies? If I turn autosave on will it prevent me from getting trophies too?

Still can't believe I've racked up over 26,000 kills. I figure I'll have over 100,000 before the next GTA come out.

🙂

i'm kinda loving the lost and dammed dlc more than I did GTA4 nikkos version.

and gta4 is, well now, was, or still is, kinda, since lost and damed is still gta4, my favorite game.

is it me or did the graphics and physics get better with lost and damned?..

I want to play LAD badly for whole story and for fun obviously.

Oh, RockStar.. you crazy company, you..

*fans self*

i downloaded teh dlc

played it once

but now hwne ever i put gta in it had no option to play dlc??🙁

Hehe, go to the place where you choose "Load" etc once in normal GTA, and then choose "Start New Game", and then choose TLAD.

This came out of the left field for me:

GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony
Yes, that is the real name of the second downloadable expansion.

May 26, 2009 - Rockstar has announced the second downloadable add-on for Grand Theft Auto IV, this one subtitled The Ballad of Gay Tony. Like the last episode, The Ballad of Gay Tony will be exclusive to Xbox 360 and will have a price of 1600 Microsoft points or $19.99.

The Ballad of Gay Tony follows Luis Lopez, the assistant to the nightclub manager Tony "Gay Tony" Prince. In it, players will, "struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price."

Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games offered this statement:

"Liberty City is the most vibrant game world we've created yet. The episodic structure has allowed us to interweave stories, gameplay and atmosphere in a whole new way. The team at Rockstar North have yet again surpassed themselves, and made something that is both epic and very innovative. This episode's focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities."

Rockstar has also announced Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City, a disc-based release that will include both The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. This disc will hit retail this fall, exclusively for Xbox 360. It will have a price of $39.99 and will not require a copy of GTA IV to run.

I wasn't expecting a new DLC for GTAIV, but is great to have more reasons to go back to LC

And is great they will release both DLC's in a single disc

Sounds great, and they say both DLCs will run even if people don't have GTA IV?

I just got X-boxed up especially for this game and I was not disappointed. Already on of my favorite games of all time.
The controls are a bit fiddly at first, even for a man with a lot of GTA experience under his belt already, such as myself.

(The sophisticated targetting systems in particular)

Amazing Graphics,
Killer sound and mad in game radio/tv/internet/radio,
A great story,
crazy physics/playability,
Huge and excellent map,
Utter immersion.

I cant wait for the expansions, as I'll probably finish the regular missions on Liberty City by the end of the week, at this rate.

yep, but that's the retail disc version, the one with both DLC

If you download them via XBL, you still need the GTAIV disc to play it

Aha, still it's a great deal for people who own GTA IV on the PC or PS3 and also own a 360 who want to experience the expansions.

Another new DLC and its coming out on one disc with the other DLC

damn i still have'nt got GTA 4 yet.

The discs are only for XBox. 😐

Unless your talking about people...well you know.

Here's a review of The Ballad of Gay Tony; http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-gta-iv/58377

Seems just as great as TLAD, really like that we now have the final third viewpoint of the museum massacre. Can't wait to pick this up.
