I love gta 4. Got it the first day and haven't beat it yet cause i'm not in a rush to. I always mess around in it mostly, then when i feel like it, i do a mission or 2, then go back to messing around, doing stunts, side missions. I'm lke 40% done.
I'm kinda starting to like "The Journey" radio station hosted by that computer DJ with the disguised bedroom voice of a woman with a Russian accent that says the most bizarre things outta nowhere, in the middle of the songs the station plays. Like "Blink, now, open, your, eyes. The, human, race, no, longer, is, here." hehe. While surrealist music plays in the background. Good stuff, especially while doing a drive-by on some hook*rs in a hoodless faux Ferrari in 5.1 dolby dig. surr. snd.

I can't do online play, but if I could, I know I'd be pissing off lots of others who are playing, because I'd keep killing them repeatedly.
i did that online...was really funny...i heard a couple of guys talking and one of them had never used a helicopter...he took directions from the other guy for about 10 minutes trying to find them...i followed him the whole time...waited until he got in the heli and was taking off...and then shot the **** outta him...him and his mates all tried to kick me but they never got enough votes...it was hilarious
i think they should either concentrate on a wholely online MMO version of GTA next time...or do a proper next gen single player game...
they'd probably get away with releases both really and people would buy them...but GTA4 didn't seem to do either to the high standards expected
i also think that Sam Howser taking over the writing of it damaged it...i personally know many of the people who helped write and make the older GTA games and their quirkiness is what helped put in alot of the funny touches (there's very few people who get alot of the references in vice city that aren't from my home town)
it just seemed as if they did it half assed...

Alas. I beat the great grand theft auto 4 on xmas day a couple of days ago. I never did want it to end which is why I took so long but it seems there's more to do as far as mini-games and/or side quests. Also 36o owners'll have upcoming exclusive dlc for the game this feb. Where you're the leader of a biker gang or something. It'll cost $20. I think a bunch of other new things'll be included too like lotsa newer and different cars.
Anyway good game. In fact it's my fav game. I thought the ending was a bit too abrupt. I would've liked a more splash of an ending and a more indepth revelation rather than seeing someone coughing up blood and croaking and that's it but whatever.
For me, this game has the highest replay value out of any game i've ever played in my life. Graphics aren't that top notch but definetely damned good enough with great detail especially considering the games massive depth and huge scale.
There really wasn't that much I disliked about the game, honestly. The overall impact of the whole game overpowered any flaws. Aiming was perfect, animation was great with nice ragdoll phisics. The voice acting was top notch and the soundtrack the best since gta-vc. I could go on and on.
I think it's the best gta outta the series, imo and I give it a solid 10 outta 10 and declare it as the best game of the decade.
