Hey, I just pre-odered this game at my local EB Games, and they gave me a little storm trooper action figure 😛 but also in the packaging, it came with a cheat code type of deal, on the main screen, I just have to type the code in where it says codes. Apparently there is 4 of them I think, anybody get one of these???
I tried the demo for the 360 last night.
I had fun with it. It kinda reminded me of Jedi Knight I & II. I liked using the Force grab/lift power the most, especially on enemies.(i liked how they'd still shoot @ you while they're dangling in the air.) I wish players were able to saber block blaster fire while running and to me the graphics look ps2-like. But overall, i liked it.
I'll get it.
I'm really looking forward to playing this game, but I think it will be released at the wrong time. With Fallout 3, Fable 2, and Gears of War 2 coming out at close to the same time The Force Unleashed should have been released sooner, or a couple of months after. I want to play this game, but I believe that it will be eclipsed by Fallout 3.

So to those who played the demo, does the game play anything like Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast or did they try something completely new? Oh wait nevermind; FistOfThe North says it does and Jedi Outcast is my favorite Star Wars game so I may look into it.
hmmm...yeah its pretty similar to the jedi knight games...i dont think thats a bad thing though cause i loved jedi outcast and jedi academy
i dont like the visualisation of the force in it though...i prefer the look of it in jedi outcast....dont like all the blue stuff
it obviously has alot more moves than the jedi knight games but in terms of what the films portray that a jedi can do...i think the jedi knight games were more plausible than some of the stuff in the force unleashed....
still...it's going to be good judging from the demo
i like the touch where you can use the force to bend bits of metal out so that tie fighters crash into them

Interestingly enough, Lucas has actually stated that the things the jedi do in the Clone Wars cartoon are more akin to what he feels the Jedi are capable of doing.

The Clone Wars Cartoons had Mace Windu friggin Hulk jumping in the middle of battles, and friggin pwning an army of Super Battle Droids with no saber. Yoda lifted a mountain, and General Grievous pwns Jedi Masters while doing handstands. 😐

Well you'd expect the jedi to be somewhat formidable on that level if an entire rebuplic/empire would bow in fear of 2 sith or a council of masters. It always took me kinda confused why would anyone fear someone who could be overwhelmed simply by numbers when your armies number in the millions.
Palpatine used his manipulations of people and political machinations to cause the Republic to fall, not use of force. That's how.
And the Jedi Council and Order was independent, but served the Republic. They didn't rule anything.

Vader, however, ruled by brute Force and flaunted his Force powers to force those under him to fear him. He would often kill those that were below him with Force Choke if they failed him too many times.
