Palpatine did.

Vader, however, ruled by brute Force and flaunted his Force powers to force those under him to fear him. He would often kill those that were below him with Force Choke if they failed him too many times.

But even there, it's not as though Vader killed everyone he came across. He ruled by fear more than anything else (that and the fact that he was Palpatine's b!tch) - all he had to do was Force choke a few people and everyone else would be like "oh shit Vader". And then the news that he could do this would get around, but really it was less flaunting his power and more fear of what he could do.

Or so I thought it seemed.

Well you'd expect the jedi to be somewhat formidable on that level if an entire rebuplic/empire would bow in fear of 2 sith or a council of masters. It always took me kinda confused why would anyone fear someone who could be overwhelmed simply by numbers when your armies number in the millions.

The 2 Sith also ruled the army, so that explains that.

And the Council was, for the longest time, the only army in the Republic and a very poweful one as well. If the Council had chosen to it could have done almost anything, but they voluntarily served the Republic.

He didn't rule his men that way though. He just enjoyed the fear he brought to them. It was more of a "do good, or I kill you".

...That's pretty much what I said.

He used the Force to instill Fear.

happened to me the day before GTA4 came out...i've never had it fixed yet...i just keep using the towel trick to fix it over and over again...must have done it several hundred times by now

I have heard of that trick over and over again, but never actually knew what it was. What is the towel trick???

Yeah I've been wondering about that too.

Two more days. Giggity.

Also, I have a question:

Ushgarak has said that TFU will not be canon. I value his word, since he is, in my opinion, one of the most knowledged Star Wars fans on this site. If so, why isn't any other Star Wars game canon? I always thought that Shadows of the Empire was accepted as canon.

BTW, I'm only asking because I have been playing all of my old Star Wars games in anticipation for the release of TFU. I only just finished SOTE on my N64 a day or so ago. I really wish that the Wii Network would let you download it.

Nice, I'll definately be trying that out.

Ush is half right.

In the Star Wars mythos there is two realms of canon: George Lucas canon and EU canon. George Lucas is primarily the movies and I think the TV shows. EU canon is the games, novels, comics, and the movies. So TFU is canon in the EU line of continuity, whereas it's non-canon as far as the movies are concerned.

as the link Estacado provided...all you do is wrap it in 2 or 3 big bathroom towels making sure to cover all the airvents...let it heat up to the point where you will hear a huge difference in the machine running...everyone knows the 360 is a noisy beast at the best of times but it get REALLY loud when over heating...

it takes about 20-30 minutes to have the full effect...sometimes it's ok to even let it run until the fan stops completely

then switch it off and let it cool for 5-10 minutes and restart...and it should be ok...it'll still be noisy but that fades as the fans start to cool it

like i said i've done this over and over again and it still works (although sometimes it only lasts 1 or 2 times of switching the 360 on...others it lasts maybe a week...maximum of 9 days)

it's a good temporary solution until you have a lull in games you want to play then you can send it away for a proper fix (i've just never bothered myself...the towel trick is fine until it dies completely)

I've been reading the comic book (and a bit of the novelization) and so far, the only real problem I see is the over-the-top overuse of the force (which is most evident in the game, not so much in the novelization, albeit of some key sequences), other than that it has good story and it doesn't contradict established canon at all...
but yeah, it is EU-Canon... until officially said otherwise

IMO, to accept the story all we have to do is look at the Force powers in the game from more an artistic viewpoint, it just makes the story better told. Like some comics use different drawing styles then others, different points of view in books etc.

Lucasarts has said they deliberately exaggerated the force powers to make it more epic.

GT has a review up: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/39955.html

Haven't watche dit yet, but from past experiences GT are usualy the ones I tend to agree the most with, so hopefuly they liked it.

No, I am fully right. Go read my posts again. It won't stand up in EU canon either- it is already contradictory and other things will almost certainly contradict it more.

All this gumf about it being a full 100% proper canon SW story is bunk.

I believe it's already been stated by LucasArts themselves that it will stand in EU continuity. Aren't you a stickler for "official statements", Ush? And what all does it contradict?

O really? Yet the comic depicted these powers, such as samurai jedi ram khota
Spoiler:
using the force to fcuk an entire tie fighter facility with one move and with ease

But if its exaggeration, is it still canon though?
