Has anything happened in Countdown worth a "wow" yet?
KK beating a superman villian, Monarch with a wave of a hand blocks a blast from a monitor, Mary seems to be quite the powerful young lady, controlling wether and able to tap power form any mage she's been in contact with, She shall be quite the villian. It seems to be all forming up to something quite special. Lil tid bids that will lead to one big WOW.
Why can't we have something with the BIGGIES?
Its always with these C and D class heroes and villians.
Right now I think the only book worth reading is JLA, meaning worth every penny every month.
I must say I am not too pleased with all of these spin off countdown books.
My buisness plan for DC:
Get rid of like 30-50% of you monthly titiles, and only put out:
JLA
Superman
Action comics
Batman
Detective comics
Green lantern
Wonder woman
Flash
aquaman
hawkman
TT
JSA
GLC
(maybe a IJL book for the villians)
.....and whatever the flavor of the time, miniseries, maxiseries, big event.....whatever.
12-14 titles a month, is that too much to ask?
Then End your publishing sometime in the next 10--20 years and focus on releasing your entire history through the Archives or TPB, or possibly through download (save the trees)
Well, DC already puts out those Biggies you mentioned. You can read those, as well as occasional crossover stuff, and be able to follow what's happening in the DCU. As long as it doesn't get to the point that you need to buy numerous titles to follow anything, then the C and D-list characters are fine in my book.
The online release is interesting, but probably not likely. And trees aren't really killed for commercial purposes, since regulated businesses plant what they destroy so there isn't a constant drain on the environment. It's wanton destruction of forests for farmland and real estate, largely in places like Brazil, that's the real problem.

The only things I have read from Countdown, is some of the tie-ins.Did anything happen this week?
Not really, a New God approached Jimmy Olsen to find the New God assassin, and magical beings are starting to get together to take on Mary Marvel as she has been consumed by power basically becoming Spectre delvering her own form of justice.

I'm talking about the future of DC in the next decade or so.
Shorter= tighter Tighter=better
The DC universe (as well as Marvel) is so interconnected that if you want the full story in the things like countdowns and Criseses, you have to buy all of these books.
12-14 titles a month around 3-4 comics to buy a week. Thats alot more manageble and they would probably gain a signifant amount of readership assuming the artwork and story telling is top notch.

And she also made African hunters the size of squirrels, and in the amazon rainforest transformed the trees to come alive and attack a logging cabin

Oh forgot to mention Trickster proves he is a genius making a gadget on the fly that reflects light making him and Piper invisible.
