I agree. Darkseid's inclusion totally means the book isn't filled with horrible pacing, shoddy dialogue, and bad art on a consistent basis.

I never said Countdown didn't suck. It does. But it's a pleasant turn of events to see Darkseid be a villain rather than the new tykes, none of whom I really took to.
