YAYAYAY!!!! you both are lovely. 🙂 welcome to the newest and most fun ship of the caribbean-- the three pirates sailing about having adventures (and if Lizzie finds her way onto the Black Pearl in the dead of night, so be it) whilst the fans drink rum and burn the spoilers and the posters- oh wait, there arent posters yet. LOL.
Ha..Ha...I love that part...if Lizzie should find her way on the Black Pearl in the dead of the night....so be it....
a ship full of fun and rum...the happy threesome...Captain Turner of the FD, Captain Jack Sparrow of the Black Pearl and Captain Elizabeth Swann of the Empress....now that would be a kick-ass ending..and then we get a little snippet of Liz happening on board the Pearl (can't resist cuz I'm still j/e at heart.. 😉 )
"Captain Swann what in Mother's Love are you doing out and about in the dark of the night, eh? Wait that didn't sound like me a'tall, guess I've been hanging around Mr. Gibbs way too much of late."
"Oh, just looking for a certain Pirate. See, I was lying in my lonely little cold bed..and what can I say. I'm curious...you know, curiosity and all that good stuff, Captain Sparrow."
"did you bring some Rum"
"why of course..."
Someone continue...if you can....
James is a great captain, a good man and he's pretty easy on the eyes.
Will is a great captain as well, a good man, and he's good looking.
😉 Jack doesn't have that much more going for him, unless you just happen to like him more than the other two. *ggg*
And lovethemtigers, what was wrong with what I said? 😛 I was careful to make sure that the men were simply engaged in doing manly things. 😉
Surreal, I don't like on how you underestimate Jack. I don't even underestimate Norrington.
Even though Norrington is just a character, not even one of the main, he is still very well admired and still has alot of character.
Its not really about your favorite. I don't know why you are critisizing us about choosing our 'favorite' when clearly your favorite is Norrington.
Jack doesn't have that much more going for him, unless you just happen to like him more than the other two. *ggg*

I don't think that you will agree with me on that because he's your 'favorite.'
Uh, back to the topic at hand if we can avoid picking on one another...
Each one getting their own ship is a great idea and that is probably the ideal ending. No one really gains a romantic relationship, but nobody loses anything either. They all get to be with the people they work best with and trust the most. Consider the film Bandits. Cate Blanchett's character loved both of them so much she didn't want to choose and destroy the relationship they had as a trio. I could see Liz doing that too.
My point, Chiki, was that Jack, James and Will are equal...except to those who have their favorites. Technically, if you look closely at the films, TnT did something very interesting with these three men...
They made all three of them excellent candidates to be the next captain of the Flying Dutchman. All three of them have a story similar to Davy Jones', and all of them are great at getting people to follow them into battle, not to mention all three men have their own form of brilliance that make them exceptional sailors.
Usually in this type of film you only get one character who is absolutely the obvious choice...but in this one we have three, which will lead the audience into questioning who might be the one to become captain. I know that most of us here have been spoiled to some degree on this, but the general audience who doesn't go poking about for information will be trying to guess to the last minute on who becomes the captain.
One thing I liked in the leaked script was that they hinted strongly that James would be the next captain...in the 56-page draft, they had him even begin to walk in a similar manner to DJ, which was really interesting to me.
It'd be nice if he could somehow become captain, because he'd be good at that kind of thing. 😄

I personally do not believe that you can love two men at the same time. I was very, VERY, dissapointed in that ovie Bandits.
There are all different kinds of love, there is the friendship kind, the lover kind, parents, etc. You get the idea.
but loving two men at the same time, I don't believe that. To care someone yes, but love them as lovers--at the same time, nope.
And to be honest, I really can't imagine Liz um..."not choosing" either one of them because she doesn't want to break the relationship. Because for starters, Jack and Will are "more aquintances than friends." I don't think theres a bond there at all. So there is no breaking it either.
Yes, I know you must be annoyed thinking that im into too much on shipping, but seriously, I think I will find it rather silly in to see Jack on his own, Liz on her own, and Will on his own. The trio no longer a trio..?
But then whats the point on DMC?
Actually, there are many people who are polyamorous. Just because it's not your cup of tea doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. 😛
As for the point of DMC, the whole point of it was to break the Trio up, to throw things into chaos, and to pave the way for Will to seek out his destiny, for Elizabeth to find out who she is, for Jack to begin the journey to discovering that he can be a pirate and a good man without sacrificing either aspect of his personality, and it's also about James Norrington seeking redemption.
Dead Man's Chest is not just about Elizabeth and Jack and how hot they are, and how lame Will is. 😛 You can certainly hold that view, but it's an insult to the writers, actors and everyone who worked on these films to make Dead Man's Chest into something as trite as a simple love story. It is so much more than that, and if you can't see that, then I feel kind of sorry for you, because you are missing out on a great story.
And I hate to say this again, but Will's statement about how he's not friends with Jack is not how he really feels about our favorite pirate. Will was playing it close to his chest, trying not to give Beckett any more information than necessary. You don't risk being hung for a mere acquaintance. Now, by the end of DMC, their friendship is in ruins, but that's probably going to change by the end of the third film. 😄
I think Will was just pissed off because Jack Sparrow had once again ruined everything for him (even without meaning to, been the cause of their wedding being broken up)... and Will is muttering to himself "if I ever get my hands on that son of a--" the way you normally do when close friends have royally pissed you off.
not that I think Will and Jack are bff or anything--- but by the end of film 1, they are definately on amicable terms. it's a friendship with no trust, but lots of dependence. like a very complicated game of chess.
which is why I would be delighted to see them battling each other across the caribbean (in a friendly fashion), both of them still trying to win fair lady's heart, both of them attempting to out-wench the other, out-drink the other, and Captain Lizzie often having to rescue them when they are too drunk or stupid to rescue themselves, and them having to rescue her when she gets kidnapped (which tends to happen frequently)... i think it would be a great scenario, actually. i dont think any J/E shippers ever wanted Jack and Lizzie to walk down the aisle and get a honda anyways, right? So if Will gets in on the adventures, so much the better.
right now....thinking about Johnny and all he must be going through with Lily Rose, being a mother myself...I just don't have it in me right now to worry about what happens in this silly ol' movie.....it all seems so minor at the point and time...but I love all you guys...I love POTC and I love Johnny and his family..take care.
Ok. Im trying to cheer myself up and others. I'am being very, very show off (really sorry). I made a my first Jack and Liz video ever--my first video EVER. And Im just very proud and excited. It's not like WOW A MUST SEE. But I wish some of you could watch it, kate, willo, lovethem...

Sorry for being a show off.
Very well edited, chiki. It's not choppy at all and the images fit the lyrics. Well done.
Nothing against all the great vids out there, but I'm really looking forward to AWE just for the new images people will get to be able to use for music videos. We see the same clips again and again and it will be so cool to have all 3 movies combined into videos. Come on and get here, AWE!
