That was probably the most surprising thing about this game. For a game about an assassins, and pretty good one too, you didnt really feel like an assassins. Stealth is pretty much non existent in the game.
I wish this game got melded together with the Hitman series (or Hitman 2) and create a uber assassin game.
Those gather intel missions are a complete bore and doesnt feel like anything an assassin would do. My main complaint about that is that it never changes. It always the same thing. Its not harder, or different. It's the same.
I thought it would of been cool if you had overhear a conversation to have it inside a building where you have like hang out beside the window, or if you need to follow somebody you had to follow him on the rooftops to not get seen.
Right. Like the Thief series...which I guess spoiled me when it came to stealth gaming.

Well, doesn't it bother you that Assassin's Creed 2 will inevitably be more of the same?-AC

People only bitched about it because there was no closure. If you don't like cliffhangers, you're not going to like the ending. However, there's going to be a sequel, so I didn't mind, personally.
But there wasn't even a cliffhanger, I usually like those in series, when I am sure I'll continue with it, series' I'm unsure of can make me continue by having a good cliffhanger. But there was simply nothing here, the one thing that makes me wanna play AC 2 is if it has anything to with the timemachine/ship thingy,
The ending in this game made Halo 2's feel like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It wasn't an ending, it was an advertisement for the sequel.
Really, I think the ending of AC should have happened at around the midpoint, as it was the first real storyline development that happened at all during the game.
Usually with storytelling, at least visual storytelling like with films/games you want something to kinda happen towards the middle of the story to re-peak interest and alter some things to keep the story fresh, this didn't happen in AC, and when it did finally happen the game ended.

Well actually, under Ubisoft's formula for trilogies, AC2 will fix the single largest issue people had with AC along with trying a few new ideas. Then, AC3 will fix the issues people still had with AC2 and will end up being near-perfection.
Hopefully.
I'm still intrigue about the idea of Assassins Creed and hopefully the developers completely change the gameplay in the second.

I wouldn't say that, the plot was the one great thing about AC. Especially the sci-fi part.

The story is great precisely because it's not simplistic. A story just about an assassin is worth one game, maybe. This is a story for a trilogy.
Which makes this the third Ubisoft series to have a clever story drag me in, after Prince of Persia and Beyond Good & Evil.
I don't care much if they change the gameplay, really. I'd like to see them enhance the fighting, but running around and all that is one of the things the game did really well.
All I hope for is some damn variety and for them to figure out a way to increase the difficulty without resorting to just increasing the amount of annoying NPC's.
I think Ubisoft really blew an opportunity with the game. By having the whole 'VR' thing going, they could have used that as an excuse to basically put you into all sorts of different scenarios and different environments that wouldn't have been reasonable had the game had a static 'real' character. One level could have been in the Crusader era, as it is now. However, rather than the next 8 levels being in the same exact area, they could have had the next taken place in the wild west (or something), and then the next in the amazon, and then in modern day and then the future and all that. This wouldn't have made all that much sense as it pertains to the story, but to hell with that. I'd gladly sacrifice story for a more enjoyable gameplay experience in this case.

Don't portray me as someone who likes simple, predictable plots, I like different ideas as much as any that is why I am intrigued by the upcoming HAZE game, the fact that, and I am being honest here, before purchasing the game I knew little of the game, I thought it would be like POP, and that's the main reason why I got it, because I liked POP and like you said it had an engaging storyline, this just sounds plain nonsense, like LOST it has no idea where it is going, I may be wrong the sequel(s) may just solve everything just like that and it may be anti climatic like most of the fads of recent times (game trilogies) or it could be a great story, fact is I want a good story and good gameplay something this game does not offer me as a player.

The good news is, a lot of the same criticisms were directed at the first Prince of Persia game from UbiSoft. Awesome platforming but crap fighting. They fixed it massively in the 2nd game in the series.
Sucks for now, of course. But there's hope.
Fighting's still a bore, but I'm getting better at stealth kills and enjoy finding ways into the large guarded complexes without being discovered....even if it has nothing to do with my current objective.
4 assassinations down. I had already broke into and scoped out the palace place for the most recent one, so the kill itself went very smoothly....I almost felt like a real assassin for a change.
I think the bad parts are all the more evident because of how well they implement certain aspects of the game. Still, I'm not hating it yet...I'm enjoying myself despite realizing that it's an inherently flawed game.
Well, thats good that you still like it.
I'm not trying to per sway your opinion of the game, but more that I was in the same boat when I first started.
I didnt actually finish the game. I got too bored of it and Mass Effect came out, or some other game at that time and I traded it in as soon as possible so I could get the most amount of cash for it.

Would that be Sands of Time? Or did they make the PoP 3D game?

I think the fighting in that is ok, much better then AC's fighting style.
