Does he? I've seen him occasionally support her but figured that was just general DC bias on his part. In movie versus if he isn't lowballing Thor he is usually supporting Superman.

If the latter, then Thor and the heroes were still facing the same power levels the abstracts were. The only difference, is they could catch him off guard, or use tactics that would he impossible to a being who sees everything on every conceptual level.
Thanos clearly wasn't trying to just gesture-away the heroes. He grew arrogant, and was purposefully inhibiting himself in that scene in order to give them an ever-so-slight chance of winning. Obviously the heroes aren't nearly in the same ballpark as the cosmics, and Thanos obviously wasn't taking them nearly as serious.

Also that's an absurdly high feat for Superman, he basically cancelled out a being who had become the multiverse itself. How's that a low showing for Darkseid is beyond me.
