its the circumstances he lost to superman which makes it look bad. it was a one on one duel a fight with no story angles save me versus you and lets see who is badder. darkseid is clearly more powerful but lost anyways. in dc superman is their unbeatable champion he overcomes all the odds. in marvel thanos isnt trumped by any hero and he overcomes all the odds. dc writing superman so tough is idiotic becuz hes a hero. u should always have the villains more powerful and more impressive. hence teams ups and what not to eliminate the evil threat. when a sundipped superman beat darkseid it was a sotry device and it wasnt as bad in my eyes. but the duel straight up means darkseid got owned by a weaker character clearly with no advantages and or lame plot devices. it brings him way down.

good post. this sums up this whole thread. the only hope thanos has of defeating darkseid is with some sort of device and preparation on his side.
and frankly, i can see darkseid defeating a depowered tyrant as compared to thanos having to retreat.

i don't think losing to superman brings him down a whole lot. clark is certainly no pushover. he finds a way to defeat pretty powerful people.
on the other hand, it's always a plot device when superman beats darkseid. it's always in a superman comic so they always find some way for the good guy to win.

And yet my wisdom eludes you. I posted examples. You post insults. DS is a much older character and has many more appearances than Thanos. In comics, older characters, with more appearances, always have more low and lower showings. Examples, Thor getting beaten by Hulk, Surfer getting hurt by a brick and lightning, yada. I already said thanos was feared for his mind and schemes where as DS is feared simply for his power. He is the Darklord already. Something Thanos wants to be. Also, DS in true form, from the 4th world, could destroy half the universe with a wave. DS in his abstract form created the Skyfather level being stayne. Who actually could be entity lvl herself. A step in between Skyfather and Abstract.

Thor isn't a skyfather! not even with the power gem! darkseid wouldn't go toe to toe with thor. no, he'd go toe to toe, rip off thor's toes, then obliterate every other part of his body.
i can't recall thanos ever doing that against thanos.
u give darkseid way to much credit is my point. and u are right for as long as both have been around there are going to be crap stories and crappy plot devices. i believe darkseid is superior to superman. but he lost to him so u cant discount it. for the one fight they had darkseid hiding in a barn. that is crap hes way above hiding in a barn. i have always thought darkseid when in a one on one fight is no way near as vicious as thanos. im right thanos takes on the beyonder and wins. darkseid is more of a thinker than doer. u say he is feared for his power more than thanos but thanos is the one who takes it to u while darkseid uses henchman and a planet full of troops to do his bidding. thanos needs no one save himself when he carries out most of his schemes.
