Wow I step out for a while and all Hell breaks loose 😂 . Anyway, I'll address some of the general concerns and then go on to explane some of the things involved in my match.
Now I know that the 24 hour time limit on matches seems a bit "off" to those of you with a life outside of KMC but I assure you all that I have a valid explanation and line of reasoning behind it. See when I came up with the Battle Zone concept it was NOTHING like my match with Trickster. I figured a challenge would be issued, the thread would be made, and the match would begin. I didn't want long drawn out matches where the people spend an hour coming up with each individual post, I was thinking more along the lines of the "regular" debates we see in the vs Forum. You know, someone says why they think their character would win, their points are countered by their opponent's, and scans are posted as is necessary with the process repeating until the match is over. I've had countless quality debates using that very system(just like everyone else on the forum) and I honestly don't see why more time is necessary. Hell, I've had some kick ass debates that only lasted an hour or so, and I'm really surprised that people feel the need to have that kind of debate drag out for days when the primary purpose of the Battle Zone is just to cut out the spam and outside interference that ruins so many debates. If someones looking for that kind of long and drawn out process...well, there's ALWAYS a tourney in the works and as far as I'm concerned that's what tourney's are for. Now if people want to have longer matchs then that's fine in my book, I'm not trying to stop them.
As for my match with Trick, there was a LOT of reasons behind my refusing the extension...
1. I originally proposed the match WAAAAY back in August, and Trick was still trying to get me to go through with the match during the short period in which he was barred from the Battle Zone. That means that he had a MONTH to be thinking about all the things he wanted to say and all the points that he wanted to address if and when the match ever actually happened.
2. When we finally decided to go through with the match, he had ANOTHER 24 hours(the period between my accepting, and the match thread being posted) to gather any scans and work out any points he wanted to present.
3. After all that preparation time, when I posted the match at the agreed upon time, THEN he finally decided to take a trip to the respect thread and get all of his shit together(which is why there was an hour between the opening post and Trickster's first).
4. Trick himself decided to stop debating the first day. As Smurph said, according to Trick he had "better things to do". He wasn't out and about taking care of personal business though, he was online and debating in other threads.
5. The next day, Trick was online and debating again for several hours before he left to do whatever it was that he went out to do.
6. Then after ALL that time goes by that he could've utilized and all that's left is the judges decision, Trick pops back in and says that he wants an extension something like an HOUR after the deadline of the match(which he decided with his first post).
See Trick's REAL problem can be summed up in a conversation he had with Blair a while back...

See what happened was that Trick thought he was in for some kind of cake walk so he sat around with his thumb up his ass until the match started. Now I'm sorry people, but it's not my fault if Trick thought that all he'd have to do is post a couple of things from the respect thread and I'd bow out or the judges would take one look and the scans and would agree with his case. If Trick had proposed more time originally I would've agreed to it. Hell, if Trick had asked for an extension before the damn deadline was up and I was waiting for the winner to be announced I would have agreed. But I'm not going to grant leeway concerning the agreed upon rules to an opponent who had ample time to prepare but didn't bother to because he thought his first post was going to blow me out of the water.
I already agreed to a rematch and I have every intention of going though with it but lets face it, if our last match taught us anything it's that Trick needs LOTS of time to prepare so it's going to be a while before I agree on a date. Well that, plus the fact that aside from my match with Trick I basically had 3 freakin debates going on via PM regarding various aspects of the match, so at this point I'm kinda sick of the whole Thanos vs Darkseid arguement.

I'll wear the sig, mostly because I'm holding to the spirit of our agreement. But keep in mind that I waited 2 days for martian to come back and debate with me in your damn tournament. 🙄 And I didn't hold it against him. I was genuinely disappointed we couldn't have a better match.
Red doesn't deserve to be scourged for defending me. He's just being a loyal friend. I didn't even ask him to do anything.
