The actual physical movements of the characters is the only thing being capped .... lasers and other things should be fine.
It's just to stop Colossus ramming into you at lightspeed and stuff (if he were to be amped somehow)

you read it as weeny, didn't you? 😛
anyway, BOTH those areas are hard to quantify. you looking for a limit to how much can be lifted or burned?
i was after a similar things with regards to energy attacks. if i have someone who can level a large city with one blast, is that too powerful?
😕
and if it is: too bad for y'all! i found her first! 😄

Or you could amp someone up, and have a Mach 10-level Colossus. Besides, they would still have to be within the limits of the match, so nobody could pick Flash.
I disagree smurph because then we could pick, say, Flash and have him go just fast enough to evade and/or outrun everyone else. Lobotomizing people like that isn't usually a good answer.
Speed is something characters can control, so it makes sense that they should be able to maintain Mach 10. It doesn't make sense, IMO to say "Well, if a character at their absolute top speed can exceed Mach 10, they aren't allowed". You could just say "Everybody has to maintain Mach 10 or lower within the tourney".
Originally posted by ScooblessI think the other caps should be kept. A person can't lower their personal durability. And Devil Lance STILL has to OK the character. If a character is a herald level, like Superman and Flash, they obviously aren't going to be allowed. If you just pick someone with a lot of speed, but all other categories are within limits, and they have to maintain Mach 10 for the tourney, why shouldn't they be allowed?
No, it gets stupid when we bring in people over the caps but promise to only use them at the capped limit. If we start that then what's to stop someone drafting Superman but saying they'll only have him be as fast/strong/durable as the absolute maximum allowed?😐
Originally posted by ScooblessWhat if the characters only go at this speed in a straight line, traveling through space or something? Or if they never use this over the caps speed in a fight... ever! Which would mean, that it doesn't matter how fast they can go in a straight line...

With Superman, he uses his speed all the time.
