"lol...awwww thats cute Willo for someone who doesnt want to know, ur pretty involved!! I LOVE IT!!!"--------piratediva

Believe it or not, I actually know very little! I skim over this thread a lot, mostly just looking for key words like "nipples." Lol. Plus, I find most of it guesswork, so I've dismissed a lot of it.

Thats cool....Now im wishing i didnt know all that i know.....i remember how much fun it was to see DMC because i knew very little so everything that happened was a surprise to me....Now when im watching it I'll be able to say the lines with characters and my friends will be like "WAIT HAVE U SEEN THIS MOVIE ALREADY, BUT I THOUGHT 2DAY WAS OPENING NIGHT??" lol

But im still totally excited to watch it because i cant wait to see the acting and special effects to go along with the words!

12. One Day (4:01)
Slowly ascending chords (like the end of the previous film), start up the track with a subtle string ostinato of Love Theme B (like the one heard in "Up is Down"😉 building into a strong slow and regal version of Jack's Heroic Theme. There's a definite touch of King Arthur, as the choir builds up in the background, climaxing to bring the theme to an end. We're left with a soft string ostinato, and now French horns come in with Love Theme A, and then the strings join in, creating a tender heartfelt moment as we move through Love Theme B into a solid statement of Love Theme C, and then finish out with a small statement on flute ending the track.

and this means?? 😕

it means Jack's Heroic theme is sandwiched by 2 love themes....which Means....JACK IS GETTING SOME LOVIN!!! 😍

lol that makes me think of the pictures of him sandwiched between scarlett and giselle haha

lol....yes but NO love themes for them....their Whore Wenches!!! Oops...well they are!!! lol

Love themes only around Lizzie!!! 😍

yup 😍

totally off topic, but I just watched DMC again and finally figured Sparrabeth out. (ya'll may disagree, but here's my take).

Keira played Elizabeth wrong.

There, I said it. Of course Johnny and Keira have amazing chemistry. But the writers didn't write the Jack/Elizabeth aspect of the story with the idea that it would become a real, full-blown ship with die-hard shippers attached to it, convinced it was going to happen. They didn't mean for it to enter anyone's head that it COULD actually happen. Sure, they wanted to tempt the audience a little bit, add some intriguing (and often morally vague) flavor to the story, and for sure wanted to add tension to the W/L romance, but it's purely Keira's acting that turned it into a massive ship-fest. Johnny doesn't overplay any of it... he's just being Jack Sparrow. I honestly think it all comes down to Keira's last little "almost goes in for another kiss" after she chains him that brings the whole thing crashing down. Up to that point, you can walk the careful line of being totally intrigued by the idea of J/L without actually considering it (or even wanting it) as a valid ending. You can enjoy the banter and the flirting, while knowing it's still as safe as it was in film 1 and she's going to end up with Will. Then, she goes in for another kiss, lingers a little too long, let's the heartbreak show on her face a little too much, and WHAM. Will's history to half the audience, and our imaginations are completely captured.

I think that finally just explains it for me. The story is actually quite simple, and actually does add up to a W/L ending, no question. Every PLOT clue leads there. It's the EMOTION portrayed in Keira's performance (and the chemistry of course) that threw everything off to the side. In my opinion anyways.

So anyways, back to the discussion.

yes but there had to be a reason why Gore choose that particular take....there has to be a reason why they decided to keep that "Almost kiss in"....not just because Keira portrayed Elizabeth wrong....i know they knew what they were doing....the chemistry was amazing that i bet u while they were filming it all their mouths were dropped in AW.....oh they new what they were doing!!! and that Lustful almost Kiss is part of the reason why DMC hit the BILLION DOLLAR MARK (yell at me all u want for saying that, but that still wont make the fact that SPARRABETH took DMC straight to the top go away) 🙂

And don't forget that, at first, Jack and Lizzie ended up together in COTBP... So there is a reason for that kiss in DMC...

I agree with you.

What do you think of this answer by Terry ?

>> is the 100pg script really going to be the movie leaving many disappointed?

It will actually be much worse even than that.

What if the 100 page script was an attempt to make something coherent out of a huge fight of opinion between cast and crew, it was the high point of the creative process, and it didn't work?

So, rather than get better from there, it all got much much worse. The final shooting screenplay became a complete mess.

After further arguing, the final version that got filmed: Jack and Elizabeth come together, they are about to kiss -- and there is a sudden THUNK.

Jack Sparrow is hanging from the gallows, at the end of P1, dangling, dead.

Will and Elizabeth, arm in arm, look on. Elizabeth says, and it's the last line of the trilogy, "I wonder what went through his head in those final moments before the noose broke his neck?"

It's awful !

No, I agree with you in some ways. The chemistry and the excitement of the love situation was definitely what pushed the movie into the billion dollar mark (think about how huge the romance novel industry is right now, and then think about "rogue pirate" with "governor's daughter" and it all makes sense).
Gore chose the take because I believe all takes were similar--- Keira CHOSE to play Elizabeth that way, and it worked wonderfully well. But they didn't necessarily foresee the reaction that would come of her pushing things so far in that direction. (You can see that through the merchandising, the novelizations, the original interviews, and the actual script). It was a gimmick, so to speak, for getting to play around the borders of morality, sexuality, and romantic angst, without actually crossing the line into Soap Opera (which is where there is NO right way for things to end).
Does all that make sense?
You just look at the way they chose to respond to the fandom, and the way they are handling this current film in marketing, and it makes sense. To me, at least.

In response to T's response about the script question, sheesh, when are people going to start understanding that they arent going to give out any real info??? They are obnoxiously sarcastic (which is your prerogative when a famous writer I suppose) and are merely playing cat and mouse with everyone.

It's what I'm thinking too... Thanks for reassuring a poor Sparrabether in distress ! lol
