OOooooo, no. I'll have to go back and watch that scene again for the music cues. But I agree with your analysis that Tia is probably working some of her voodoo magic on Will. Actually, the interesting thing about that scene is that he seems to be the only man affected by her. Jack already knows she's not to be trusted. The rest of them are afraid of her.

Nah, don't be. After all, it's just a film...ha, that's easier said than lived, I know.

To me it meant something. Implying how much Jack trusted so much into a silly thing that thought could save his life, which actually ended up being worse.
Handed it non other than Tia herself. Tia wanted to make herself look as if she was helping, but in reality made it worse. Norrington got the heart and is now in the posession of Bucket Head.
At the same time, it did kind of helpped. It showed a lesson to Jack in not depending on material things. He clungs to his "effects" like a child when he's afraid. Look at the way he so desperately wanted his "jar of dirt" when his black spot reappeared.
So the jar of dirt was both good and bad.
Well i was wtching the movie today and i thought of something that was said a while back, im not sure if by TnT or by Naomi Harris but they said that the JAR OF DIRT did have a purpose!
I was thinking the concept of Davy Jones locker is what exactly? isn't it suppose to be a watery grave? Bootstarp has a line that says something about it will take u to depths of the ocean or something...is the locker suppose to be at the bottom of the water?
cause if it is then i was thinking that when Tia gave Jack the Jar of Dirt she knew that he couldnt avoid his fate of going to his watery grave. "Davy Jones cant but set foot on land every 10 years, land is where u are safe Jack Sparrow, so u will carry land with u." i think the Jar of Dirt was filled with Tias magic, so when he and the Pearl got swallowed thats why they ended up in the desert and not at the bottom of the ocean.
My guess is that she knew that the only way Jack could settle his debt with DAVY is that he had to die, but by giving him the Dirt she secured him by puttin him on land so that he cant be touched or tormented by DAVY while in the locker. And it would be easier to get him out without being under DAVY's watchful eye!!

That's an interesting theory. You might have something there actually. If the Jar of dirt is more involved than we know. It's interesting that he's rescued by crabs when he's in purgatory.
Jack earned his trip to Purgatory through his actions. He's done some things that aren't exactly on the up and up, but his saving the lives of the slaves and other noble deeds spared him from being sent straight to the Locker.
yes cause i strongly think that the place that he is at...isnt really the locker....something interupted his trip to the locker....im thinking it was the Jar of Dirt....i know the jar of dirt broke but nonetheless it broke on the pearl it was still there!
and when the rescue party get there....tia seems to know exactly where she's at.....and its funny u mentioned the crabs cause doesnt a crab crawl on TIA...like she is to familar with them!!
She was so worried about such a silly thing.
