Lucas's planning?

How much planning did Lucas really have when he made A New Hope?

I mean, he was thinking of maybe killing off Han,

The prequals obviosly were only loosely connected to the original trilogy at first, only enough for him to be able to explain what happened.

And lastly, would anyone know where I would be able to see Lucas's 15 page original draft for A New Hope?

Lucas didn;t have to plan it, it's all true! Star Wars is a historical drama, he got the facts straight from the emperial records

Lucas seems to have made up a lot of it as he went along.

It is what all great story writers do

True.

there was kind of a master plan though, designed by Lucas and (ANH&ESB) producer Gary Kurtz: a nine (or twelve) part series, in which Leia was NOT his sister (but there was another sister to be discoverd in later episodes), where LUke would fight and defeat Vader in EPIII and then move on to a confrontation with the Emperor another three episodes later.
When time for ROTJ came around, Kurtz was ditched and Lucas took a shortcut.

Yes, he did make up alot of it, but HOW much, I mean, there is alot of stuff that he obviosly could not have. I mean Vader being his dad? If he did, that's really awesome, but that seems like something he was building up to.

Also theres always talk about his like 15 page rough draft for ANH, does anyone have it, or know where I could find it?

Yeah, see, it'd be really interesting to know what his plans were, if he had an idea that Han would meet up with his old friend Lando, even if he wasn't lando yet, or like just a general direction for them. He originally only got the rights for a trilogy. I mean, I guess that could be like a first CHUNK, but I dunno, just speculation.

ANH and ESB are both still en route on the master plan. It starts to deviate from ROTJ on.

The treatment called The Star Wars: Journal of the Whills and other early versions of the SW scripts/treatments can be found here: http://www.starwarz.com/starkiller/scripts.htm

Thank you, this is just the goldmine I was looking for!

You are welcome. But they are easily found, these scripts.

I could never find them...

All you have to do is Google. Anyway, you're very welcome.

I did 😑

Well, thanks anyways 😄

Anytime.

He still messed them up look at how fast ep three joins with four

Not really fast...kinda 20 years.

Didn't Obis character had to survive until the end, but Alec Guiness requested that his character be killed, because he didn't like with what he got involved,i think i remember something like it, i could be wrong.
Its more of a questing, then a statement.

Never heard that, I am not so sure I liked the whole "ghost" type of thing.

The story is much more powerful if OB1 does get killed.

Of course without the PT, we don't know that.

Yeah, but did he really have to come back?
