But i'd never say he was more powerful, even over prepowerup Surfer.
And i just want this claim that the connection to the Source is what allowed Superman to beat Darkseid substantiated for once, or kill it entirely.

It's debateable that Surfer wouldn't be able to see through the hoopla with his cosmic awareness.
And the mere fact that Superman had to get an altogether whole new plotdevice power to beat Surfer, because his classic powerset just doesn't cut the mustard makes me laugh at the absurdness of it all.
