Spiderman's little problem

Started by CasanoVa3 pages

I don't think upgrades are needed as such, because they are always forgotten (as already stated) as soon as they are given to the villains anyways. I think Marvel really needs to start making new villains, because with Civil War and their attempt to make most villains almost "anti-hero"-ish there is quite a lack of actual villains.

The ones that are still around are a bit tired and repetitive, for example Magento has been raped to death to be honest with the Xorn thing etc. So they really need to get out there and start creating more antagonists for their stories, a writer who is very good at this is Dan Slott (which is why I'm DEFINETLY picking up Avengers: The Intiative). Many writers lack either the knowledge of continuity or just the effort of picking up some of the many villains that Marvel let slide into obscurity.

My 2 cents, probably worth ahellavalot less though.

In Spider-Man Reighn, Spidey was getting owned by the villains

Especially Venom at the end

For me its not about upgrades, I just want to see Spidey fighting his old villains like the good old days

Seriously, when's the last time we saw Spidey fight Doc Ock or Scorpion?

Doc Ock? Well.. a few issues ago, when Octavius attacked Peter's school and he defeated him in his civvies infront of his pupils.

Scorpion? Not sure, I heard he PWNED Gargan with the symbiote not too long ago though.

I'm not sure when Pete last fought Gargan AS the scorpion, but that's the last time the two fought.

Yeah, it was just to show how Pete revealing his secret identity effected his life. As if Aunt May getting shot wouldn't do that enough 🙄

Spidey was like in his 40s-50s 😐

But Spider-Man has tons of rogues that can be used that don't have to fade into obsurity. He has a lot of villians that haven't been used since the 80's that can be updated, etc.
That's true, but I wouldn't mind a new one every once and awhile. I love the old Spiderman comics and cartoons, but I also like good deep writing and some of the characters presented in related series (like the Toxin series). The guy with no arms, that was a great story how he had the lost kids serving him.

he still wtfpwnd them when it was one on one tho....except Venom but that's acceptable

After seeing Shocker in The New Avengers, I'm sure he'd be able to give Spidey trouble.

When was Shocker in New Avengers?

Sure you don't mean Electro?

Sorry. I totally don't know what I just said.

What we need is that now Brock is gonna be Venom again, but Macgargan should go back to being scorpion but because of his time with the symbiote he is a like a powered up version and should pwn spidey a couple of times ✅

He's fought all them since his upgrade? 😑

I knew he fought Mysterio, but the other ones...

I don't mean JUST the upgrades.

But look at how Spidey fared against the Green Goblin the first few times he hopped on his glider to how Spidey damn near one-shots the guy more recently.

It's not just the upgrades - part of it has to go to experience, or maybe even just bad writing. But fact of the matter is, Spidey's grown. He's grown a LOT since he first got that spider bite. It seems that most of his villains haven't kept up - and that makes for a boring read.

Spidey's upgrade couldn't have come at a better time. This being that his identity is revealed and he is gonna need every one of his abilities to defend himself.

Why?

Grimm hates everything. He's funny like that.

Spidey has been upgraded. Great!

Let's show him how little a difference that will make by allowing him to fight the Sinister Six again.

Last time the Sinister Six pwned him bad.

I still don't see where you're getting the idea that Spider-Man's been running through his villains left and right. Morlun? Rhino? Jack o'Lantern and whoever that other guy was during Civil War? They all damn near killed him.

And this was pretty recently...
