So, what do you believe?

Started by King Castle30 pages

hmm... mhmm Buddhist.

i once followed the path of the Siddhattha Gautama and his teachings, Korean Zen style....🥷

i never called myself a Buddhist they are just labels..,, one of the main thing about my teachings was not to label yourself. when ppl asked i just said i was studying and tryin to learn from the Buddhist beliefs.

i tried to walk in the path of a follower of Buddha as well as Emmaneul..

kinda like reading down the list: Don't kill.. treat others as should would like to be treated... Good is to practise the Way and to follow the truth. Great is the heart that is in accord with the Way.
seek the truth and you shall find it etc... etc,,

i was like that sounds good, lets try it out.

So what happened? You say you once followed it. From that I would infer you have now stopped. Why so?

being kind and truthful tends to get others to take advantage of you.

i got tired of being lied, cheated and taken advantage of. whats the point of being a good person when all it gets you is trampled.

i am still nice and kind but i am more careful with who i am nice and kind with and who to trust.

i still follow certain Rules just not the entire belief structure which by the way are not set rules just examples...

example.. i dont wake up every day and shave my head or eye brows or make a vow of silence,.. but i do meditate regularly.. i like to think of live and let live and forgive when its possible but i dont and wont allow some one to hit me without me hitting them back.

You rather than being kind and truthful you decided to be... kind and truthful?

i am selective with who i am nice and truthful too...

i can be kind, caring and whatnot and also be a prick..

* i am a Christian... i believe in the totality of the words of God in the Bible... i believe that the Bible is the sole basis of faith for the Christians... i believe that the true religious group is the Church of God in the Bible... 🙂

and y is there soo many dif. belifes in Christianity i think its all stupid

A house divided against itself IS stupid. 😮‍💨 My faith lies in Jesus as I believe he died as a sacrafice to appease a fault that couldn't otherwise be corrected. I can honestly say that I can't understand why God operates the way that he does but I'm not perfect and I believe that he is just that.

That being said I believe that Jesus is the only fair judge of mens' hearts and even people who SAY that they are atheist ARE capable of going to heaven if their heart strives after Jesus' commandment of "Love thy neighbor as thyself"

I can empathize with an atheist though because most people of faith are such tremendously blatant hypocrites that it makes it hard to believe anything that they say at all...... 😮‍💨

Romans 2:13

I believe that whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you... stranger.

So why not refer to the genderless as ‘it’?

Because in English the word 'it' is commonly seen as inferior to human. It would not be appropriate nor respectful to refer to the Supreme Creator of Reality as 'it.'

I'm ''officially'' Buddhist, however my belief is much broader and I am happy to hear and at times accept beliefs that make sense to me (not religious institutions, so don't bother trying that conversion crap).

I believe Jesus has either encountered or learned from various Buddhists, Confucius' disciples and Hindus and has brought many of their philosophies into Christianity.

No one has a monopoly on Truth. Truth comes from the One God who said He raised up prophet/messengers among all of the people of earth. You should expect their to be parallels within all of the world's faiths. It's possible that Jesus met and conversed with Buddhists, etc. but not necessary for him to have taught what he taught.

It's impossible to get into heaven if you do not believe in God; your good deeds will be like worthless dust blowing in the wind. Good deeds are your reflection of your belief in God and that what He said is true. Without that basic belief in Him, nothing else you do will matter.

Tell that to Pennybags.

Doesn't that just sound like a complete idiotic and moronic set of rules? Especially coming from a supreme being?

Person A) An atheist, but is a saint, helps the needy, gives to the poor, donates a kidney to save a child he/she doesn't know and by all accounts lives a "good" life by a Christian standard of deeds done. But goes to hell.

Person B) A Christian, not a bad person; generally looks out for their own best interest, but isn't above helping others. Gets a free pass to heaven.

Now tell me, how is that a kind and loving God?

lol Clever.

No "one" has a monopoly on Truth, but the One who invented Truth certainly does. 😉

Not at all, especially considering that 1.) God knows all and we don't 2.) He makes the rules.

I believe in love after love
