Wrestleview.com's Josh Boutwell passed this along: There has been rumors the past week or two about Mistico that I didn't even acknowledge in my column (Viva La Raza! Lucha Weekly) because this happens EVERY year with Mistico, but it looks like this time it could be for real. This is the cover of the newest SuperLuchas Magazine:It says "Mistico leaves Mexico...and signs with WWE!" (or close to it) on the front. Several blogs and sites have claimed that Mistico had been negotiating with WWE as well as AAA. Mistico was on last week's CMLL tour of Japan but he hasn't been added to any of the lineups for next week which got people talking as well.

so is it just me or has virtually nothing come out of the whole CM Punk and John Cena angle? he gets eliminated from the rumble and now they're all cool? 😕
and is it just me or was the crowd behind Lawler more than they were behind all the "talent" on the show last night?
P.S Morrison continues to impress though. Let's hope he keeps the beard so he doesn't wind up alienating all the straight men in the crowd from cheering for him.

glad to see WWE remembered the angle with Cena and CM Punk.
frankly the whole angle with Orton and Punk doesn't make sense. yeah, he punted him and cost him the title. but that was two years ago...and what was he doing since? getting new tattoos? (oh wait...)
Elimination Chamber is probably going to SuperCena mowing down the entire competition and eating the elimination chamber itself for the thrills of screaming 12 year olds -_-

Lesnar is under contract with the UFC. Dana White will not allow him to wrestle Taker at WrestleMania.
Right now, many people think that Sting signed with WWE to take on Taker at Mania, but I'm not so sure about those rumors. Vince really doesn't have a good opponent in the organization to headline the event against Taker, except for Cena. Cena is the only top star that he hasn't defeated at WM.
I wish Kurt Angle would re-sign with WWE, that would make an epic WM match with Taker.

Well, the idea is that Mistico will be a replacement for Rey Mysterio, not a rival or whatever. Mysterio's knees have been blown to pieces, but Mistico likely wont be on the main roster for quite a long time anyway. Traditionally most guys who have been in EMLL, CMLL, AAA etc. For a long time struggle quite a lot with adjusting to the WWE/American style, and in turn have to spend a lot of time in FCW (WWE's developmental company). I don't think he's really needed at this point either, but he's a much more safe bet for a replacement for Rey than Hunico is.
And I don't see how Alberto Del Rio and Chavo Guerrero are comparable at all to the Luchadores in the company. Sure, they're all Hispanic, but they aren't comparable at all from a character standpoint. Chavo will probably be moving into a trainer/road agent position this year too.
