Star Trek XI & Sequel News Thread

Oh shit, that was lame of me. It was alright, a good portion was stuff we've seen already (unfortunately), them doing a (really) high altitude jump, Sulu figthing with a rapier etc.; the new stuff was mainly more action scenes shown in quick snips. Am excited about the film, JJ Abrams guaranteed the movie will follow canon and will have tons of little bits for the diehard Trek fans, references and such.

Abrams said he wants to show it this Friday with "The Watchmen", but said the studio is reluctant, so it may or may not be shown with that film.

There ya go, that wasn't so hard now to share with all of us, was it? 😉

Don't make me fling feces at you.

The title of this thread should have been changed to J. J. Abrams Star Trek 2009, by now.

Some of the Next Gen cast may be in this...

Unless there's time travel involved or actors like Spinner and Stewart aren't playing their same roles as seen in Next Gen, it doesn't make sense, or sit well with me.

UPDATE FROM PREVIOUS POST: No actors from Next Gen likely not in the movie..

Good to see they heeded my words.

THE final Trek trailer..

Enjoy, I liked it

I loved it. my hopes keep rising for this movie.

I hated it, as everything else I've heard/seen about the movie. Although, then I realised, whenever someone's messed with the timeline before, people from the future have gone back in time to right what was changed, thus removing the alternate timeline from existance, and that made me happier that I can effectively ignore the new film when it turns out rubbish.

New trailer kicked a decent amount of ass. I'm fairly excited.

I'm not a Star Trek fan at all, but this movie looks pretty neat.

I'm a Star Trek fan and this movie looks like it's going to blow.

Really?? Hmm. Looks like it was made for a general, movie-going audience then.

That would be sweet and would fill the gap left by Battlestar.

Just saw a new Star Trek commercial and have high hopes.

"I would love to return to the spirit of the old series with the colors and attitude. I loved Voyager and Deep Space Nine, but they seem to have lost the '60s fun and I would love to take it back to its origin."

Wouldn't mind a new show, but have mixed feelings about a retro-styled one. I thinking they should just leave the bright colors and cheesiness back in the Shatner era.
